Contents
Learning which departments and stakeholders are involved in developing a service
and create a future travel service. Learn how you can develop disruptive
innovations and use design tools to create shared understanding and align and
involve the different stakeholders. This year KLM is the case and you are asked to
design a new disruptive travel service. Each week you do a ‘half a day – internship’
at another department that is involved in developing this journey. In reflective
sessions at the faculty we reflect on the interests at the different departments and
how to deal with those differences. One strategy we will explore is how design tools
and taking the passenger experience as a central focus can help to involve and
convince all stakeholders to actually organize the future travel service.
Study Goals
*Learning about the different internal and external stakeholders in an organization
and the complexity of the organisations in developing disruptive innovation. These
stakeholders have, for example, different interests, ways of working and time
spans.
*Learning about the different interests and values of all those stakeholders
*Experiencing and iterating on how design tools, activities and capabilities can help
to align and involve the different stakeholders in the organization and design new
means for this purpose.
Education
Method
Half a day internships at different departments of an organization (KLM this year)
with a project assignment to develop disruptive innovations for the future travel
service. Coaching from the faculty and the company to reflect on the challenges and
differences between the departments and stakeholders and how design can help to
overcome these differences.
Literature and
Study
To be decided and provided during the course.
