I write to confirm that Simon Bishop has now left the school on 31st March 2017. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Simon for his contribution to the School and wish him all the best for the future. As we are sure you are aware we have a new leadership team in place following the early retirement of Simon Bishop at the end of last term. Helen Ward, Headteacher at Otterham and Lee Bacchus, Headteacher at St Breward & St Teath, will be supporting the school this term along with the temporary executive Headteacher, Jon Lawrence who is Headteacher of Sir James Smith’s. Our planned timetable will see Jon Lawrence in school every morning, Helen Ward will be here on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings and Lee Bacchus will be here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are entering a new and exciting phase in the development of the school and would always welcome your thoughts, approaches and your concerns. Please feel free to make an appointment to see any one of us should the need arise. To this end we will be sending out a parental questionnaire to all parents and carers to seek your views as to the current situation in school. Your response will be included in our short term improvement plans. Gardening Project We are keen to take advantage of the good weather to improve our outdoor environment. To support this we are proposing a gardening competition where we hope the classes will compete with each other to produce and maintain the best raised beds outside each individual classroom. If parents and carers feel able to donate some time, tools and elbow grease to help with this project, please contact your child’s class teacher to offer support. Judging and prize giving for the best raised bed will be made at the summer fair. We were all saddened to hear that Philip Lessels passed away this week, he taught at our school many years ago and more recently was a Governor with us. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. Yours sincerely, Headteacher. TERM DATES: Half term 29th May - 2nd June inclusive.
