BRONCOS CHALLENGES 2009
RENOUF SHIELD (year 8 – 13 years) and HANCOCK CUP (year 9 – 14 years)
Based on the 2008 rankings at the completion of the 7 rounds of the Renouf Shield, the following
schools automatically qualify for the Renouf Shield and the Hancock Cup in 2009:
Keebra Park, PBC, Mt. Creek, Marsden, Coombabah and Wavell.
WALTERS CUP (year 10 – 15 years)
Following the 2008 results of the Hancock Cup, the same six schools will qualify for the Walters Cup
in 2009.
NOTE - Any schools wishing to try and qualify for the remaining two (2) positions in these
competitions must nominate on the attached form and be prepared to play on the qualifying days
indicated.
Renouf, Hancock – Tuesday 24 March 2009, Walters – Wednesday 1 April 2009 (venues tba)
GEE SHIELD (level 2 Open grade with the top two (2) teams eligible for the playoffs for
positions 7 and 8 in the South Qld. Quarter finals of the Arrive Alive Cup)
Schools that do not qualify for the Langer Trophy and any other school wishing to play in the next
level down from the Langer Trophy may nominate one (1) team only in this competition. (Schools
who nominate their number 1 team for this competition, should play their number 2 team in the local
district competition.)
Depending on the number of nominations for this competition, schools will be placed into pools
(geographically) to fit in with the number of weeks available for the competition.
LANGER TROPHY (Elite ‘Big 6’ competition. Guaranteed entry into the South Qld Arrive
Alive Cup quarter-finals.)
Only schools who feel they can genuinely compete at this level should nominate for the three (3)
vacant positions.
Depending on the number of nominations for the three vacancies, qualifying details will be advised in
early 2009.
Schools already qualified for 2009 are: PBC, Keebra Park and Wavell.
