SECTION 10 22 39
FOLDING PARTITIONS
PART 1 – GENERAL
**NOTE: THE PK30 ACCORDION FOLDING SYSTEMS ARE FOR FOLDING PARTITIONS
WEIGHING UP TO 176 LBS (80 KG) PER PANEL. REFER TO THE PK30 SYSTEM
WEIGHT CALCULATOR EXCEL SPREADSHEET TO CONFIRM THAT INDIVIDUAL
PANEL WEIGHT IS UNDER THE SYSTEM’S LIMITATIONS. ONE-SIDED
INSTALLATIONS ARE POSSIBLE UP TO 6000 MM (19 FEET-8 INCHES OR 732
INCHES) IN WIDTH OR DOUBLE THIS FIGURE FOR TWO-SIDED (MIRRORED)
INSTALLATIONS. A TOP & BOTTOM CENTER PIVOT HINGE SECURES THE FIRST
PANEL IN THE SET, SUBSEQUENT PANELS ARE HINGED TOGETHER. THE
VARIOFOLD SYSTEM’S SUSPENSION POINT IS AT THE END OF THE PANEL, PANELS
ARE OFFSET TO THE SUSPENSION TRACK WHEN FOLDED/STACKED. VARIOFOLD
MUST BE INSTALLED WITH A CONTINUOUS BOTTOM GUIDE CHANNEL FOR
CONFIGURATIONS WITH MORE THAN TWO PANELS, ALL PANELS MAY BE EQUAL
IN WIDTH.
THE CENTERFOLD SYSTEM’S MID-POINT PANEL SUSPENSION ALLOWS
INSTALLATIONS WITHOUT A CONTINUOUS RECESSED BOTTOM GUIDE CHANNEL,
BOTTOM RAIL LOCKS & DUST-PROOF STRIKES KEEP THE CENTERFOLD WALL
SECURE WHEN CLOSED. THE GEOMETERY OF THE CENTERFOLD SYSTEM
REQUIRES THE FIRST PANEL TO BE ROUGHLY HALF THE WIDTH OF SUBSEQUENT
PANELS.
GENERAL NOTES: A COMMUNICATING PIVOT DOOR MAY BE ADDED TO THE
PANEL STACK, OR TO THE OPPOSING END. ATTACHED TO EVERY OTHER PANEL IS
A FOLDING/PIVOT DOOR CATCH WITH AN INTEGRATED, INDIVIDUALLY
ADJUSTABLE RETAINER TO HOLD THE FOLDING WALL FLUSH WHEN CLOSED.
BOTH VARIANTS HOLD MANY OTHER ACCOMMODATING ADVANTAGES; EASY
PLANNING AND INSTALLATION, EXTREMELY QUIET RUNNING PROPERTIES, LOW
PARKING AREA SPACE REQUIREMENTS AND EXCELLENT QUALITY WITH REGARD
TO MATERIALS AND FINISH.
**NOTE: SPECIAL CONDITIONS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED. PLEASE CONTACT PK30
SYSTEM IF YOUR PROJECT HAS UNUSUAL REQUIREMENTS OR CONDITIONS THAT
HAVE NOT BEEN SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSED. SPECIALIZED SOLUTIONS ARE
AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.**
