The Summit Launches All-in-One Debit Card

The Summit Federal Credit Union wanted a debit card with rewards and protection, so The Summit complied.
Available starting today, the new My Rewards™ Platinum and Gold Debit Cards give members the perks of a
premium credit card, including protection along with cash back or points redeemable for travel, gift cards and
electronics.
“There are a lot of people for whom a credit card doesn’t fit their lives, or who just prefer to use a debit card,” said
Twanda Christensen, Marketing Manager for The Summit Federal Credit Union. “Now, by offering rewards and
protection together in one debit card, we are giving these people the opportunity to not only share in the advantages
that some premium credit cards offer, but to enjoy fantastic extra benefits, too.”
The Summit’s My Rewards™ Debit Cards work hard for the cardholder, earning points for purchases that would be
made anyway, such as groceries, gas, or paying bills. Platinum Debit Card members can earn three points per $100
spent; the Gold Debit Card lets members earn two points per $100. Shopping online through
MySummitRewards.org gives buyers an average of fifty bonus points for every $100 in purchases, or an average of
5% cash back for Platinum Debit Card members and 3.5% cash back for Gold Debit Card members.
Built into the cards are numerous protective benefits, including purchase protection, prescription savings and travel
safeguards. In addition to buyers’ protection that reimburses cardholders for stolen or damaged merchandise, The
Summit will double the manufacturer’s warranty for items purchased with the card. Anyone who drives can have
peace of mind with the 24/7 emergency roadside assistance that comes with the cards, and cardholders who become
ill or injured while away can rest easy knowing that the card provides transportation to medical facilities.
For a limited time, The Summit’s members can earn an extra $75 just for opening a new debit card and using it ten
times. Additionally, a free 90-day trial period allows members to see if a My Rewards™ Debit Card is appropriate
