2017 Home Run Derby Rules
1. The Derby is separated by age with an extra division for coaches and parents.
2. Entries will cost $5 each entry.
3. Individuals may enter a maximum of 3 times.
4. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers of each Division

6 & Under, 7 & 8 Years, 9 & 10 Years, 11 & 12 Years, 13+ Years, Parent & Coach
5. All batters must wear a helmet
6. All players should wear their team shirt and hat. They can wear whatever pants/shorts
they want. Cleats are optional.
7. Players will be allowed to catch fly balls so feel free to bring a glove.
WARNING: Players are not permitted to “rob” a hitter of a home run. Please be careful
not to make contact with any ball that is a possible home run.
8. All pitches will be off of a tee for the 6 & under division.
9. Players, coaches and parents will be competing as individuals, thus a team may have as
many entries as they want.
10. Players may play up in an age division but cannot play down.
11. Players may only use bats approved by Little League for their 2017 division
12. 6 & Under Division ONLY: Batters will accumulate points based on the distance of 10 balls hit off
a Tee (any ties will be broken by the longest ball hit)
13. Players get 8 outs.
14. An out is considered any ball that doesn’t make it over the designated fence in fair
territory or any swing that does not result in a home run.
15. A home run will not be considered an out. The batter may elect to not swing at a pitch
without penalty.
16. Any ball that is hit over the designated fence in fair territory without hitting the ground
first is considered a home run.
17. Profanity and excessive arguing will not be tolerated from any player or parent and is
subject to disqualification without reimbursement.
