Government subsidy Eligible families who have one parent who stays at home or works, volunteers or attends school less than 20 hours per week may qualify for a Government of Alberta Stayat-Home subsidy of up to $1,200 per year for each preschool-aged child who attends a licensed preschool or an approved early childhood development program. To find out if you qualify, visit: www.humanservices.alberta.ca/financialsupport.html The “Estimate Your Subsidy” tool under the “Child Care Subsidy” tab will enable users to enter information and see if you are eligible for this subsidy. The child’s playschool will be notified and provided with a subsidy claim form. Subsidy is paid to the child’s playschool, not to the child’s parent. The parent will be responsible for paying their portion of the playschool fees directly to the playschool. This subsidy does not cover the cost of additional fees such as volunteer commitments or fundraising requirements. Income guidelines Applicant must be a resident of Leduc County, Calmar, Thorsby, Warburg or the Graminia area of Parkland County. Proof of residency may be required. Income guidelines are based on gross family income.
