Accessing Earth Science Resources via C2k
Earth Science Lesson resources are available in two formats via C2k, namely:
A. Lesson resource packs containing downloadable lesson plans and teaching
resources. These resources are mostly PDFs and are available from the EQUELLA
digital library.
B. Interactive course rooms for pupil use. (These Fronter Ready-to Go rooms contain
video clips, online quizzes and other interactive content.)
Instructions on how to access both types of content are provided below.
A. Lesson Resource Packs
To access the downloadable lesson plans, worksheets etc. follow the steps below.
1. Log into the MY-SCHOOL web portal
2. Click on the EQUELLA icon in the launch panel to the right of the screen as shown
below.
3. In the Quick Search field, enter Earth Science Lessons or a key word such as Earth
Science, Dyanmic Earth, Violent Earth etc and click on the Search icon.
4. Click on individual resources to view and/or download OR click on the Preview link at
the bottom of the screen to scroll through the resource pack
B. Interactive VLE Course rooms
These Fronter interactive course rooms are available for download as a zip file from
EQUELLA. The zip file can then be uploaded to your Fronter area for use with pupils. The
steps below outline these processes.
Downloading zip file from EQUELLA
1. Launch EQUELLA from the MY-SCHOOL portal
2. In the Quick Search field, enter the name of the Ready-to-Go course room and click
on the Search icon
3. Click on the resource title
4. In the Links to resources field, click on resource name to download the file.
Note: the zip file content will only be usable when uploaded into the
Fronter VLE - see instructions below.
5. Launch Fronter from the MY-SCHOOL portal
6. Click on the Rooms icon to the top left of the screen
7. Click on Create new room
8. Select a corridor
9. Enter the room name
10. Check the Import room structure box
11. Select the middle option: Import from File
12. Click Save and then Browse to browse to the downloaded zip file
13. Click Upload
14. Click View Room Requests and then on the name of your newly copied room.
