Make always the best choice out of your learning toolkit; that might not always be e-learning Some characteristics: • Internet as distribution channel (‘e’ refers to ‘no fysical contact’ and use of [mobile] device; learning to ‘knowledge, sense and notion’) • Learner oriented, (plus generic and customer content) • (When needed:): demand driven • Online back office • Track & Trace • Learning enviroment can be adapted to the learner Everything is possible as long as learning is the point of focus!!! Some important reasons: • The trainer is not always around • Training via the story of the trainer • Uniform training of groups/individuals (costs driven) • Easy tracking & tracing • Possibility of / connection with skill based training • Controlled and recurrent training & testing • Flexibility and Mobility; responds also to the upcoming need and responsibility of self-development • Tailor made solutions and company specific Look & Feel • ‘1-spot availibility’ + ‘1-spot-maintenance’ Implementation & Long term effectiveness • Start with a small case (a specific team and/or subject and make a succes of that) • Communication (beforehand, during and in the follow up; never launch an eplatform with content without an implementation plan and optimized communication!) • Project-based organization (planning, dedicated projectmanager, ….) • Adequate infrastructure (devices, internet connection, software, e-mail adresses, learning at home….) • Starting position of students (pc-skills, web conditions, …..) • Commitment of all involved parties (time, budget, responsible e-learning management, follow up in time, …..) • Technique is a ‘vehicle’ for learning, not an end in itself • Transformation of role: Trainer wil be Coach(ing Trainer) Login the e-platform Discussion?
