One week professional trial presented to young ANB Academy player
May, 2016 (RELEASE) – ANB Futbol is pleased to announce that one young Academy player has
received an official trial opportunity with ESTAC Troyes. Victor DeGiorgio (2002 born) will travel to
the French Ligue 1 club & train with its Academy programs for one week (http://www.estac.fr/).
Victor will be leaving Canada at the beginning of June, along with the ANB Futbol U-13 team that is
participating in the “Challenge de Champagne” tournament. He will be assessed by the club’s U-14
team technical staff and competing against other players for a position in the group; if successful,
further arrangements will be made for him to officially join the club. A club scout identified Victor at
last year’s tournament in France and at the annual ANB International ID Camp.
Victor has been a member of ANB Futbol Academy for the past 7 years, competing in various age
groups starting with the U-8 program.
“Victor is an attacking player, a striker who gives defenders fits. We truly hope he will be able to do
the same in France and we look forward to hear good reports of his trial. With his age, we will have
to respect FIFA rules on international transfers. We believe this is the first of many steps for Victor!
We wish him well,” says Academy Director, Bassam Naim.
ANB Academy's vision is to become Canada’s leading soccer development organization. Its mission is
to identify Canadian soccer talent, and to maximize the potential of players at any level, through
professional coaching and training.
