Objective: Students will create a group
presentation that addresses the following
questions:



What makes a rising power a rising power?
How will power be distributed among nations in the
21st Century?
How will the U.S. role in the world change in the 21st
Century?

 Why is this country considered to be one of the
world’s current rising powers? Consider its
economic, political, and/or military power.
 Explain any challenges that this country faces that
inhibit its rise to power.
 How might this country’s rise affect its relations
with one of its neighbors?
 Explain your country’s relationship with the
United States today. Explain the issues which we
agree and cooperate, along with any issues which
we disagree or conflict.
Presentation Expectations
 10-12 minutes in Length
 Contains ONLY information that you understand
and can adequately explain to the class.
 Organized and coherent
 Each presentation will be followed by a Q/A
session
 Every group member must participate
 A properly formatted MLA Works Cited page
must be submitted at the conclusion of your
presentation.




Project Grade:
The grade for this project will be an individual
grade, although group collaboration will be a
factor in computing your grade.
The grade for this project will be worth 10
percent of the course grade.
The teacher reserves the right to remove an
“uncooperative” group member







