1.
Conditions of Play
(i)
The Championship will be a 72 holes Stroke play event with 18 holes to be played each
day. There will be no cut.
(ii)
The Championship will have a maximum field of 120 players.
(iii)
In the event of a tie for first place there will be a sudden death play off starting at 1st hole.
(iv)
Starting times will be from 8.30 am. For the final round at PA there will be a two tee start (1st
and 10th) from 8.00
(v)
Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf of R&A Rules Ltd, Competition and Local
Rules and the additional Local Rules of Pinheiros Altos & Quinta do Lago North Course as
approved by the Tournament Committee.
The decision of the Tournament Committee will be final.
2.
Entrance Fees
Professional & Amateur
€350 for the event.
All entry fees for the tournament can be paid at registration on arrival. We would appreciate
entry fees in cash (euros).
Registration for The Algarvian Invitational must be made and entries must be paid before 12 noon
Tuesday 10th January 2017 at which time the draw for the 1st Round will be made.
3.
Entries
Entries may be accepted from Professionals who must be 48 years of age or older on Wednesday 11th
January 2017.
Entries may be accepted from Amateurs who must be 48 years of age or older on Wednesday 11th
January 2017and must have a maximum playing handicap of 14.
Current handicap certificates will be required from all amateurs upon registration at Pinheiros Altos.
Entries will be accepted at the discretion of the organizer.

5.
Prize Fund
Prize fund is estimated at €30.000 based on an entry of 72 players or more.
A minimum of 1/3 of the professional field will receive prize money.
A list of the prize money will be posted with the draw immediately after entries close on Tuesday 10th
January 2017.
Amateur prizes will be gross and nett overall and daily prizes for amateur players.

Buggies
Buggies will be allowed for players over 70 years of age.
Transfers
Transfers between Hotels and the Pinheiros Altos golf course will be on an availability only basis.

Practise Rounds
The official practise days for the Algarvian Invitational will be on 9th January from 7.36 to 11.52 at Laranjal and
on 10th January from 7.36 until 11h52 at Pinheiros Altos.

For the days prior to the tournament access to the courses will be on an availability only basis and each of the
courses have to be contacted individually.
Practise Ground
The practise grounds will be available free of charge to the players on the days of play and for the official
practise days at each of the respective courses.
Rangefinders
The use of range finders during the tournament will be permitted for amateurs and professionals.
