American Football Codes of Practice The club and its members are affiliated to the British American Football Association and members are expected to follow its guidelines: http://www.britishamericanfootball.org/downloads.aspx All players are taught the most up to date playing techniques, which involves keeping the head out of contact to reduce head injuries such as concussions. LSAFC teaches “Head‐up” football to avoid axial loading of the cervical spine, to avoid neck injuries LSAFC ensures that the playing equipment owned by the club is maintained to a high standard, and every player knows how to wear the protective equipment correctly Paramedics/ ambulances present at ever game Onus is on players to tell their coaches / co‐ordinators if they are injured Each coach is working with a small group of (Aprox 10) players so they can keep better track of players injuries Playing equipment is stored in the safest possible way, given the space currently available to the club.
