The Student Recognition Award is intended to recognize those students who best exemplify co-curricular contributions to
Red Deer College and the community. The award is not based on academic performance, rather is recognition to
highlight students’ accomplishments based on the following criterion: inspiration, innovation, leadership, courage and
community.
REQUIREMENTS:

Nominations must be submitted to the Student Funding and Award office.
GUIDELINES:

Students, Staff and Community Members can nominate a student for this award.

Award recipient will be chosen by the Awards Selection Committee based on:
o
Outstanding contribution to any of the criterion (inspiration, innovation, leadership, courage and
community)
o
Strength of the nomination using examples, stories, anecdotes, etc.
VALUE:

Selected individuals will receive a monetary award at a value of $200 each.
NOTE:

Those selected as recipients of the award will be contacted via email to attend the Annual Student Recognition
Awards Ceremony taking place on Thursday, March 23rd at 5:30 p.m.

Recipient attendance is mandatory in your receiving the award.

Please ensure correct spelling of student name, student ID # (if known), Email address, and program year
(if known) is accurate.

Complete and accurate information allows equitable recognition for all students. Copies of the nomination forms
are given to students on request.
REMINDER(s):

A weak or incomplete nomination could undermine the entry of an excellent candidate.

Please return the completed nomination form to the Student Funding and Awards Office in 1102.
In nominating a candidate for this award, please give the Awards Selection Committee as much information as
you think relevant. This form is simply a guide and you may attach additional information if necessary. Consult the
student you are nominating to be sure you are listing all of the areas of involvement he/she had. Student resumes will
not be accepted as part of the nomination.
