Acoustics Plus Pleasing Aesthetics Prove Key to Modern Office Interior
Modern developments in glass partitioning
systems have transformed the options available
when looking to create a contemporary work
space, with excellent acoustics and intelligent use
of lighting remaining crucial. Speciality
pharmaceutical and services business Clinigen
discovered some of these innovative solutions
during its own quest to create both a functional
and aesthetically-pleasing office.
Speaking about the project, John Jardine, Contracts Manager at Blueprint Interiors Ltd, said: “The
office requirements set out by Clinigen were to design a modern work space which was light,
bright, and open plan, whilst maintaining acoustic protection between each meeting room and
office. Our first move was to contact our distributor CCF to seek product guidance on how we
could best meet Clinigen’s needs to the timescale we had been set.
“We’ve worked with CCF for a number of years and have a strong relationship with them. CCF
advised that they had recently launched an exclusive own brand range of partitioning and interior
systems called Sektor which would meet all the requirements set out in the Clinigen
specification.”
Discussing why Sektor is the ideal solution to meet Clinigen’s requirements, Andrew Figgens,
Partitioning Manager at CCF Nottingham, said: “Glass is being incorporated into building design
in far greater quantities and in more creative ways than before. The result was the design and
launch of Sektor and two of its innovative glazed partitioning systems, Sektor 85 and Sektor 25.
“Sektor 85 is a versatile frameless full height double-glazed partitioning system, with a sound
attenuation of up to 50dB. It provides designers the freedom to blend full or partial glazing with
solid in almost any combination. Sektor 25 is a single-glazed partitioning system, with a sound
attenuation level of up to 39dB. Both systems use near-translucent glass-to-glass joints, helping
to maximise the use of natural light.
“I recommended Blueprint Interiors Ltd use a combination of both Sektor 85 and 25 to maintain a
healthy balance of acoustics between offices and meeting rooms whilst maximising the feeling of
space that an open plan layout allows.”
Andrew Allison, Refurbishment Project Manager from Clinigen, said: “Through Sektor, CCF really
helped to guide us through this major change with minimal disruption to the business. The final
result is an outstanding office space which is not only a pleasure to work in but is flexible enough
to meet the changing demands of a busy workforce.”
