Tournament Format The tournament is x swiss rounds depending on the number of players into a single elimination bracket for the top 16 players. All matches will be played in the STANDARD format. The winner is always responsible to make sure his match gets reported correctly. Please always contact the admin team to make sure your match was reported correctly. 1.1 Match points and tiebreaks Winning a match will earn a player 3 match points. Standings will be determined first by match points and then by tiebreakers. Each player will have two tiebreakers. First tiebreaker will be the average amount of points taken by opponents (expressed as % of maximum). Second tiebreaker will be number of games you won (expressed as % of maximum). 2. Deck Rules and Match Format a. All matches must be played in the designated tournament area using a laptop/device that can use wired internet. b. All matches are played bo5. c. All matches must be played on the server which the event is located on (Austin, Atlanta, Montréal and Denver play on Americas. Summer, Valencia and Winter play on Europe) d. All players must set their chat status to busy, failing to do so will result in a warning. e. Spectating mode must be turned off for the tournament. Admins may instruct certain matches to ignore this due to broadcasting purposes. f. Match format is bo5 Last Hero Standing, all players submit 4 decks of unique classes, then blind ban one deck of their opponent. g. Last Hero Standing is a bo5 format where if a player loses with their deck, the deck can’t be played in the remaining games of the match. A deck must be used until it loses a game. h. The first game in a match both players will blindly select decks. i. During a match players must promptly choose their next class or risk facing a penalty at the administrator's sole discretion. j. k. If a player selects a class that is no longer eligible to be played or banned, the game will count as a forfeit and their opponent will receive a win for that game and the match will continue. If a match ends in a draw (e.g. Hellfire kills both players) the match will be replayed using the same decks. 2.1 Side event Deck rules and match format a. All matches must be played in the designated tournament area using a laptop/device that can use wired internet. b. All matches are played bo5. c. All matches in Grand Prix Side events must follow the server requirements listed in point 2.c. d. All players must set their chat status to busy, failing to do so will result in a warning. e. Spectating mode must be turned off for the tournament. Admins may instruct certain matches to ignore this due to broadcasting purposes. f. Match format is bo5 Last Hero Standing, all players submit 3 decks of unique classes to [email protected] g. The first game in a match both players will blindly select decks. h. During a match players must promptly choose their next class or risk facing a penalty at the administrator's sole discretion. i. If a player selects a class that is no longer eligible to be played or banned, the game will count as a forfeit and their opponent will receive a win for that game and the match will continue. j. If a match ends in a draw (e.g. Hellfire kills both players) the match will be replayed using the same decks. 2.2 Veto process You will receive a personal link to where you will select your classes for the remainder of the tournament. This link will host all your match vetos for the tournament. DO NOT SHARE THIS LINK. This is a personalized link for each player and must not be shared. Process -Select your four (4) classes, -Select round (match) to veto. -Press join and wait for opponent to join. -Select one of the four classes of your opponent to veto (ban) (timer 120 seconds). If you fail to veto one of the opponents classes, a class will be randomly selected -Select CONFIRM your selection. -View playable classes in your match. 2.3 Match slip process The players in match X will receive one (1) match slip before a match has started. See the process for match slips below 1. Receive match slip from admin team 2. Play your match 3. Write down the score for the match and sign it Both players will be required to sign the match slip after the match has finished. If the admin team has not received the admin team both individuals will receive a match loss. 3. Technical Issues Whenever you suffer a technical issue, report to the admin staff immediately. a. If either player disconnects from the game due to technical reasons and the game is heavily favoured to the extent that the game would definitely have been won by one player, provided a screenshot of the game prior to the disconnect, an administrator may rule the game in favour of said player. Should the game be too close to call, it will be replayed. b. Our main source for tournament internet will be wired internet. If a player uses an alternative connection they do so at their own risk and can’t be guaranteed the same stability. 4. Behavior and Conduct a. If a participant commits violent acts, or threatens to commit violent acts, against any other player in the Tournament, any admin, or any spectators of the Tournament, he or she may be disqualified from the Tournament. b. If a participant behaves in any unsportsmanlike way it is possible, to the sole discretion of the administrators they will receive a penalty. c. It is a players responsibility to be on time for their matches, if they are late they will suffer a penalty either losing a game after 20 minutes, or the entire match after 30 minutes as to not delay the entire tournament. A player is required to inform the tournament staff if they are late for a match, if not they will be dropped from the tournament. d. One 5min break is allowed during a match. e. Coaching is not allowed during a match (this includes during breaks). f. Failing to attend round 1 will lead to immediate drop out of the tournament. Please report to the admin staff should you be delayed. 5. Tournament Eligibility Anyone DreamHack judges may have a conflict of interest may be disallowed to participate. DreamHack referees have the right to remove a player from the tournament at any time. 6. Penalties Depending on the situation a player could be penalized in any of the following ways: a. A warning (repeat warnings lead to other penalties) b. Penalized a game in a match (eg. starting their next match 0-1 instead of 0-0) c. Penalized a match (eg. forfeiting a match, or being eliminated from the tournament) d. Disqualified from the tournament entirely 7. Drop out If a player decides to drop out of the tournament they are required to contact the admin team and sign a drop out sheet for confirmation. Once a player has dropped out of the tournament they will not be able to rejoin. 8. Deck reveal a. After the swiss rounds have finished, all advancing players decklists will be sent out to the top 16 players advancing to the single elimination bracket. b. A minimum of 10minutes will be given for players to study the decklists of their opponents before their match goes live. 9. Equipment a. Players will utilize their own equipment during the swiss stage. DreamHack will provide a device for all streamed matches. b. Excluding the equipment players use to compete, additional electronics are not allowed. 10. Deck Tracking software Players are allowed to bring a pen and a blank piece of paper for notes during matches. Any kind of decktracking software is not allowed in this tournament. 11. System requirements All tournament devices must fulfill the minimum system requirements for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
