Rules and Regulations
Visitor Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Welcome to Lakewood’s Home Run Dog Park. Please adhere
to the following Rules and Regulations so the park can be an
enjoyable experience for everyone
1. Please use the appropriate small or large dog park area for your dog.
2. Any dog over the age of six (6) months must be healthy, vaccinated,
legally licensed and wearing identification tags prior to use of the dog park.
3. Dogs must be kept on leash until inside the gated area. Dog collars to
remain on at all times. Visitors are required to have leash in hand while
inside the dog park.
4. Dog owners must be in the dog park and within view of their dog at
all times.
5. Spaying/neutering of dogs is required.
6. The following are NOT allowed on the premises:
◆ A vicious or aggressive dog.
◆ A dog less than 6 months old.
◆ A dog with a communicable illness, infection, fleas, or parasites.
◆ A dog that is currently under quarantine by order of animal control.
◆ No choke, pinch and spike collars.
7. No animals other than domesticated dogs are allowed in the park.
8. No children under the age of 16 are permitted unless accompanied by
an adult. Children shall not antagonize dogs.
9. Owner must clean up and properly dispose of dog waste in designated
receptacles.
10. No more than two (2) dogs per person in the dog park at one time.
11. Professional dog trainers may not use the site to conduct classes or
individual instruction.
12. No smoking, food, food products, dog treats, alcohol or glass containers.
13. Dogs are not allowed to dig. Please fill any holes dug by your dog.
14. Toys and dog toys are not allowed (tennis balls are ok).
15. Do not leave personal property. Items found will be disposed of.
16. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries caused by
them. (CA Civil Code Section 3342 and Government Code Section 831.7.5)
17. Use of the dog park by any dog shall constitute implied consent of the
dog’s owner to all rules and regulations and shall constitute a waiver of
liability to Southern California Edison, the City of Lakewood and an
agreement to protect, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Southern
California Edison, the City of Lakewood, officials, and employees for any
injury or damage caused by a dog.
Any violation of the above rules and regulations could result in temporary
or permanent expulsion from the use of the dog park.
