Japanese American Citizens League Livingston-Merced Chapter DAY OF REMEMBRANCE BANQUET February 20, 2016 The Livingston-Merced Japanese American Citizens League invites you to the annual Day of Remembrance Banquet Social Hour 5 p.m., Dinner 6 p.m. Merced County Fairgrounds, Pavilion Building 900 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Merced, CA 95340 Professor Ignacio López-Calvo, at the University of California, Merced will share his research and personal insights into the international case study of Seiichi Higashide (1909-1997), a Japanese Peruvian who devoted his life to obtaining redress from the American Government for the many violations of human rights he experienced as an internee. UC Merced will reveal the Yamato Colony Digital Collection Pilot Project, which is a collaborative partnership between LivingstonMerced JACL and UC Merced’s Center for the Humanities and Library. Dinner will be catered by Five.Ten.Bistro. The menu includes sushi hors d’oeuvres, mix green salad with sesame dressing, chicken and steak teriyaki over bed of rice, steamed vegetables and green tea éclair.
