YES Primary Internal Contacts/stakeholders Sydney University Cricket Club members Sydney University Cricket Club Alumni and/or Foundation members All SUSF staff All SUSF Club Staff Direct Reports Nil Primary External Contacts/stakeholders Relevant contacts at Cricket Australia & NSW Sponsors NO NO YES General Description The Cricket Operations Manager reports directly to the Chairman, SUCC and High Performance Manager, SUSF and is responsible for the management, organisation, promotion and implementation of the following programs: Financial Management, Constitutional Compliance, Events/Fundraising/Sponsorship, Foundation, Club Communications, Competition and Game Day Management. Duties to Include: 1. Financial Management: 1.1 Provide an Annual Budget for approval by the SUCC Board 1.2 Liaise with SUSF Financial Department on income and expense items 1.3 Received monthly financial report, ensure information is correct and present to the Board in an appropriate format. 1.4 Receive all Playing Fees from players and/or supporters of the club As at 25 February 2014 Position Description: Cricket Operations Manager – Sydney University Cricket Club 1.5 Ensure Grant Applications are submitted by due dates and monies received. 1.6 Purchase club apparel annually in line with SUSF regulations 1.7 Purchase cricket balls as directed by the Director of Cricket 1.8 Purchase and sell merchandise such as vests, tracksuits, caps. 1.9 Manage the income and expenditure of the Canteen to maximise the financial opportunities for the club. 2. Constitutional Compliance: 2.1. Organise Monthly Meetings of the SUCC Board 2.2. Collate written reports on all areas of the business and provide to members of the Board 2.3. Implement all directives and policies of the Board. 2.4. Provide efficient correspondence to internal and external stakeholders when required 2.5. Produce an Annual Report for the SUCC 2.6. Maintain an up-to-date database of club and volunteer members 3. Events, Fundraising & Sponsorship: 3.1. Maintain the existing sponsors of the club 3.2. Liaise with the SUSF Sponsorship Manager to acquire any new sponsors to increase revenue for the club. 3.3. Together with the Corporate and Alumni Relations Manager conduct the Annual Blue and Gold Luncheon 3.4. Conduct the Annual Golf Day 3.5. Conduct the Annual Presentation Dinner 3.6. Conduct Corporate Cricket Days 3.7. Conduct the annual Foundation Cricket Day 3.8. Conduct the annual Friends of SUCC Lunch 3.9. Conduct any other functions which may lead to revenue raising 3.10. Provide members with a calendar of events each season. 4. Foundation: 4.1. Maintain an up-to-date database of members of the foundation 4.2. Liaise with the Foundation Chairman to conduct meetings as required 4.3. Liaise with the Chairman, SUCC Foundation to conduct the affairs of the Foundation 4.4. Provide correspondence to members as required 4.5. In conjunction with the Chairman, SUCC Foundation conducts an annual event to increase the effectiveness of the foundation. 5. Club Communications: 5.1. Produce and distribute a weekly in-season (monthly out season) email newsletter including match reports and selections notice As at 25 February 2014 Position Description: Cricket Operations Manager – Sydney University Cricket Club 5.2. Produce and distribute all club communications – website, social media, email and phone. 6. Competition Management: 6.1. Liaise with SCA/CNSW and all club correspondence in a timely manner as required. 6.2. Obtain registration forms from all players prior to each season and upload registrations on SCA website. 6.3. Provide all playing members with an Annual Players Manual encompassing competition details, club goals, history of the club, contact details of players and board etc. 6.4. Organise and coordinate fixtures & ground bookings for Grade, Metropolitan Cup, Sunday League and City & Suburban teams. 6.5. Liaise with the Director of Cricket to compile Match Reports (after conclusion of each Round) and distribute to relevant channels. 6.6. Receive and distribute scorebooks, draws and rulebooks as provided by the SCA prior to each season. 6.7. Appoint Scorers for as many grades as possible and to oversee performance of scorers and oversee all input, including match scores to the SCA website 7. Game Day Management: 7.1. Preform the role of Match Day Manager or recruit a suitable resource to perform the role 7.2. Oversee canteen management – stock control, customer service (Lunch/Afternoon Tea), cash management, cleanliness 7.3. Complete or oversee game management – scoreboard set up, balcony set up, liaison with opposition, scorers area, clean & remark lines on wicket, ensure cleanliness of home & away change rooms, liaise with Grounds staff as required. 7.4. Act as the Green Shield and/or Poidevin Gray Shield Manager as directed by the Chairman, SUCC 8. Women’s Cricket 8.1 Assist the University Women’s Cricket Club (UWCC) where possible with financial management 8.2 Assist the UWCC where possible with Fundraising and Sponsorship frameworks 8.3 Assist the UWCC where possible constitutional compliance 8.4 Assist the UWCC where possible with competition and game day management 9. Other Duties: 9.1. Liaise with the Grounds Staff and relevant SUSF Operational staff to utilise the facilities of SUSF. Attend CNSW & SCA designated seminars/meetings/functions as directed by the Chairman, SUCC 9.3. Delegate duties to scholarship holders when required 9.4. All other duties as required 9. Qualifications & Experience 9.1 Essential Professional Sport industry experience (3+ years) Strong knowledge and network within the Australian Cricket community. Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills Organisational & Time management skills 9.2 Desirable Relevant tertiary qualifications – Degree in Sports Management or similar First Aid – workplace safety 10. Accountability This position reports to and is accountable to the High Performance Manager, SUSF and Chairman, Sydney University Cricket Club 11. Conditions of Employment 11.1 The position is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Employment Agreement and relevant industrial award. 11.2 The successful applicant will be required to complete a Police Records Check and Working with Children Check as per NSW Government Legislation. 11.3 The position has a 6-month probationary period 11.4 The availability to work a 5 day week plus flexible/extended hours as required to meet the demands of the position and commensurate to the level of the position.
