in one touch
Utilisation of existing resource
with better document security
With IC Card Reader, no further ID or password is needed for authentication.
Have you ever left documents behind at a multifunction device or printer or picked
up documents that were left unattended in the output tray? Do you want to restrict
unauthorised usage of your multifunction device or printer?
These problems are solved with the implementation of an IC Card Reader.
Authentication is as easy as a touch of a proximity card over the IC Card Reader.

Manage documents on a
multifunction device or printer
with just a touch of a card.
Tighten security with the
unauthorised usage and
private-print features
A touch to authenticate Users no longer
require an ID or password to access
the multifunction device or printer.
Authentication is done when the IC Card
Reader scans the card held in front of it. There
are two authentication modes - ‘Touch &
Use’ or ‘Set & Use’ which can prevent users
from leaving documents behind and prevent
unauthorised use.
Restriction of users . Restriction can be set
so that only IC card authenticated users can
use the multifunction device. This prevents
information leaks to those unauthorised users
without IC cards. In addition, restrictions also
can be applied on individual functions such as
Copy, Print, Fax, Scan, Color or Monochrome.
Single card multiple usage IC Card Reader
supports proximity cards frequently used as
employee ID cards or admission cards such
as MIFARE, and FeliCa. With this flexibility,
users do not have to carry multiple cards.
Authentication operations can be carried out
with the use of a single card.
Multiple Access Format
Authentication can be done with proximity
card, employee's number or by keying in
the ID number for a non-employee. IC Card
Reader also allows combined use of multiple
card formats. With this feature, multiple types
of proximity cards can be used at the same
time, at the same device.
Improves cost management
and user traceability
Accounting reports With the use of AWAS, the
administrator can collect copy/print/scan/fax
logs of all multifunction devices or printers in
the Network and facilitate accounting reports
in accordance to the accounting model used
in each department. AWAS is required.
*AWAS - ApeosWare Accounting Service
Private charge print Only IC card users
authenticated by the IC Card Reader can view
their documents on the operation panel of
the multifunction device and release the print
job. They can then collect the document on
the spot. No more unattended documents
lying at the printer!
* Support only multifunction devices with private
print function.
Support internal and external MDF
authentication. IC card supports
authentication for user management based
on both MFD (internal auditron) and external
authentication server (AWAA / LDAP).

Priorities Reading Areas on Proximity Card
IC Card Reader can be set to prioritise reading
on certain user ID areas of the proximity card.
For example, if a proximity card has two or
more user ID areas, the device will retrieve
the user ID based on the priority set.
