TEN TORS BRIEFING DAY – TEAM MANAGERS INFORMATION

TEN TORS BRIEFING DAY – TEAM MANAGERS INFORMATION
Dear Team Manager,
The Ten Tors 15 first tranch of allocations should now be up on this website, if there are issues please do not hesitate to contact me on : [email protected].
You have applied for, and hopefully been allocated a team to take part in the Ten Tors 15 event (Ten Tors Challenge and Jubilee Challenge), taking
place on the 9th and 10th of May 2015. The next step is to attend the Team Manager’s Briefing Day that will take place on 11th of October 2014 at
Okehampton Camp. All Establishments are required to have at least one Team Manager or Team Leader at the Team Manager’s Briefing Day.
Every Team Manager needs to attend the Team Manager’s Brief at least once every 3 years.
Registration has now closed with over 400 teams applying for the event and thus there will be disappointment. That said there are always teams
dropping out throughout the run-up period to the event; and thus the reserve list will be utilised to backfill these teams, it is anticipated that almost all
teams on the reserve list should get a place so please keep training. We can accept teams from the reserve list as close as 2 weeks before the event
and in 2014 more than 50 teams originally on the reserve list took park. However if the Reserve list Team Managers have not been at the Team
Manager’s Brief in the last 3 years then their team will not be considered.
The Briefing Day.
The Briefing Day will start at 0930hrs on 11th October 2014, in Hanger 83 at Okehampton Camp(Okehampton Camp Postcode EX20 1QP, GR:
SX587932).. There will be signposts within the camp for parking and direction, beverages will be available from 0900hrs the day should finish around
1700hrs. The programme will consist of up to date briefs, in large and smaller groups, by representatives of various organisations who have input into
the event. This will include information about rules and routes, equipment, training and safety as well as briefs by the National Park, Duchy of
Cornwall and the Dartmoor Commoners. There will be an open forum Q&A session at the end. Lunch will be available at Okehampton Camp
included in the price of the day which is £5.00 per person.
What to do next.
The next step is to ensure that you, your establishment and your team wish to continue, then:

Make a BACS payment to the Ten Tors Fund of £5.00, please put your Surname and Establishment as the reference (so we know who has
paid). This is mainly for beverages and lunch on the day but any excess will go to fund the Ten Tors Event.
o Account Title: ‘HMG 2491’
o Sort Code: 30.00.02
o Account No: 2090320
Receipts for payment will be available on the day if required (for claims). One person can pay for more attendees (at multiples of £5) as
long as they are from the same establishment.
Payment is required no later than the 5th of October 2014. If for some reason you are unable to make this payment in advance then the
cost for the day will be £7.00 “on the door”.
If you are entitled (you will know if you are, if in doubt you are not) then please e-mail [email protected] with attendance details
as per the attendance certificate, plus military details, so that I can create a ration roll, instead of the BACS payment.

Fill out the details and print off the Car Pass (below), so you are allowed into Okehampton Camp.

Fill out the details and print off the Attendance Certificate, so that (on the day) we know you were there (you will need your head of
establishment signature so please ensure that you fill out the certificate in plenty of time).
Incomplete Registration Information?
Those teams that have been asked by e-mail (sent by myself on the 25th of September 2014) for extra information (Team Manager’s/Leader’s names
and/or qualifications) will need to have them available on the day so please bring them with you. You are also requested to continue to fill these
details in on the “Registration” link on the website, which is still open; so that we have those details for our records. The registration link on the
website can be updated constantly, at any time, so if there are changes please keep us informed through these means.
Then simply turn up; warm and waterproof clothing is advisable in the case of inclement weather (this is Dartmoor in October after all!).
