Political Roles and Responsibilities
Party Leader
Your major responsibility is to lead the party. You are the leader, the
organizer and chief cheer leader – the buck stops with you!!!
You are expected to:
 Oversee that the party members are working hard and together
 Know about ALL of the issues being discussed by your party
 Be able to support and debate the bills of law of your party
 Keep yourself updated as to what your members are doing and
working on
 At ALL times - Represent your own party
You will be assessed on:
 Summary of the bills of law of your party
 Oral Skills during parliament session - support provided to your
members during parliamentary sessions
 Individual participation throughout the exercise
 Written reflection on class discussion
Summary of party’s legislation

Provide a written version of the Party’s Platform.

Points should be aligned to one another – respecting the party’s

beliefs, vision and point on the spectrum.

Should include: major goals, major issues addressed, ideology of a
perfect country.

Around 400 words.
Individual participation

Supports the other party members by keeping them informed of the
party’s beliefs and ideologies

Keeps on task during class time (proactive with class time)




Support those points examples and/or research support


Minister
You are assigned a specific area of expertise and a specific issue to
address. You are expected to:
 Know the area of expertise (general idea and common issues)
 Develop a bill of law that provides a solution to the issue of your
area
 Be aware of the bills of law of other parties in your own area
 Prepare a defense for or against the bills of law of other parties
in your area
 Keep your leader updated as to what you are working on and
developing
You will be assessed on:
 Written bill of law (including the research needed)
 Defense of your bill in the parliamentary session
 Response to others’ bills in parliamentary session
 Written reflection after class discussion

Bill explains the importance and necessity of its legislation

Bill breaks down clear and relevant legislation points to form one
coherent bill that addresses the issue

Communication Minister
With the rise of power of the social media, your role has been made
important. You are expected to:
 Manage the RamLog of your party
 Make sure the content is appropriate, professional and follows the
requirements set by the rubric
 Create and manage and social media accounts from your party
(Twitter, Facebook…)
 Feed discussions on these social media sites
 Keep your party updated as to what is being discussed on those
sites
 Ensure that all party documentation follows a professional and
common design
You will be assessed on:
 The creation and daily management of the RamLog and social
media sites
 Oral Skill during parliament session – be able to explain the
party’s media input
 Written reflection after class discussion
Creation and Management of Ramlog and Social Media

Ramlog blog is professional, well designed and includes all necessary
elements

Ramlog follows given template

Social Media and Ramlog is updated daily to reflect the party’s daily
activities and legislation

Creation of a professional design that is applied to all party
documentation
