Canada Ski Cross – Assistant Coach JOB PURPOSE Canada Ski Cross (CSX) is looking for a passionate and energetic coach to fill the role of Assistant Coach. This coach will work directly with the World Cup team in the daily training directed by the Head Coach. This position requires extensive travel while working with one of Canada’s most successful winter sport teams Type: Seasonal Full Time – 7 months Reports to: Head Coach World Cup – Canada Ski Cross Location: Travelling Position ABOUT ALPINE CANADA ALPIN ACA is home to three of the Canada’s fastest and most exciting snow sports: alpine skiing, para-alpine skiing and ski-cross. Our focus is not only to produce world-class athletes, but also to encourage participation in skiing at all levels and promote the benefits that result from participating in sport. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be seasonal full time position commencing approximately August 15th, 2017 for a duration of 7 months. Experience and qualifications will be considered in compensation terms. This position will be responsible for on-hill assistance for the Head Coach and Assistant coach, as well as assisting with off-snow duties, focusing on dryland training for the athletes. Canada Ski Cross will consider a history in sport & conditioning training or athletic therapy an asset Primary responsibilities would include: • Assistance in set up of DTE • On hill duties including, but not limited to, setting up and monitoring timing system, shooting video & course maintenance • Athlete management off-snow including, but not limited to: • Lead dryland activities during the race season (space set up, ensure equipment is adequate and set up) • Communicate with physio/massage therapists about athlete needs • Communicate with S&C lead to adjust programs as needed • Performance Analysis • Analyze race footage and compete spreadsheet tracking • Assisting in ski preparation at training and competition venues, as requested by ski service lead • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of athletes during training camps and events • Tracking, monitoring and reporting of camps and races • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on identified athletes • Timely expense reporting QUALIFICATIONS: • 5+ years of coaching experience at a FIS level • Proven track record of coaching in programs with strong athletic performances • Excellent grasp of video analysis software and experience operating timing systems • Clean driving record • CSCF trained & in good standing • Excellent skier with the ability of skiing with heavily loaded packsack • Language skills and knowledge of European travel CERTIFICATIONS (Considered an asset) • B.
