Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
APM expects project professionals to undertake a minimum of thirty five hours of formal and
informal professional development every year. This is a professional obligation to clients and
employers. As a committed project management professional, you are responsible for your own CPD
activities and you are expected to complete the required hours every year.
APM is pleased to be a research partner of the Professional Development Consortium, who exists to
support all those involved with Continuing Professional Development. Find out more about their
research including some undertaken with the APM community, and the latest guidance and good

membership benefits
“What is the difference between individual and corporate membership specifically for individuals”
Individual membership bestows the professionalism and best practice “stamp” on the individual, by
way of knowledge and competency, whereas corporate membership bestows the “stamp”
institutionally in relation to project delivery or a career development path or both. Corporate
member employees have access to APM resources in much the same way as individual members
with the following limitations:
•
•
•
Non-members are not able to use APM full and fellow member post-nominal’s
reflecting their respective standing
The member’s area of the APM website is restricted to individual members only
Non-members are unable to participate in APM Board and volunteer committee
activities
