2017 Ladies Division Activities

Business Ladies’ League
The Business Ladies’ League is open to
all women 19 years of age and older
who join the Business Ladies’ League.
This league is run independently of the
Ladies’ Division and is open to both
members and non-members of Kelowna
Springs Golf Club.
Play takes place on Wednesday
afternoons with a split tee format
starting at 3:12 pm and is followed with
dinner and prizes.
Tee-times are assigned at 9:00 am on
Wednesday for play the following week.

further details.
Duffer Dollars
Open an account at KSGC and earn
Duffer Dollars. You receive a rebate gift
certificate equal to 3% of all regular
daily charges you made at KSGC
between October 1st and the following
September 30th. The minimum reward
is $25. You can redeem this voucher in
any area of the golf course before
December 31st. Where you spend your
reward is up to you...it cannot be
applied to services.
Member Events:
Match Play
Match play is open to all lady members of
Kelowna Springs. The sign-up form is in the
Ladies’ locker room on the bulletin board. We
encourage all levels of player to participate.
Match play games can be played on Tuesday
mornings. However, players must adhere to
Tuesday rules of play if they wish to
participate in the Tuesday competition as well
as complete their match play game.
More information regarding Match Play will be
posted on the bulletin board in the Ladies’
locker room in April.
Ladies’ Division
2017
Senior Ladies’ Championship
The senior ladies championship is a two day
event that is open to Ladies’ Division
members over the age of 55. It will take
place on Monday, July 10 and Tuesday,
July 11, 2017. Prizes and banquet will
follow. More information will be posted in the
ladies locker room.
Club Championship
The Kelowna Springs Golf Club Championship
is a two day event that is open to all
members of the club. It takes place on
Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August
20, 2017. Watch for the sign-up sheet in
August.
Kelowna Springs Ladies’ Division exists for
several purposes:
* Opportunity to meet the lady membership
Additionally, Kelowna Springs Golf Club hosts
several Members’ Mixers throughout the
year. Please check with the Pro Shop for
details.
* Opportunity to have friendly and fun games
* Opportunity for social gathering
Tuesday Ladies’
League – April 4 to October
10
Spring, Summer and Fall Golf
The Tuesday Ladies’ League begins in the
Spring with a warm up game on April 4 followed
by regular play every Tuesday until October 10.
The League ends with an awards luncheon on
October 3. Our final round of play is scheduled
for October 10 is just for fun. The Tuesday
Ladies’ League also includes a Nine Hole flight.
This flight is for members wishing to participate
in the Tuesday Ladies League but who only wish
to play nine holes for the majority of games.
Details of each game format are posted in the
Ladies’ Locker room on the bulletin board.
Weekly sign-up sheets are posted in the locker
room. Each week, the organizing committee
will schedule the golf pairings and tee times.
New Member Mentor Program
For ladies who are new members of Kelowna
Springs, we have a mentor program. New
members can choose to play their first few
rounds with a mentor to ensure they are well
informed on game formats, scoring, social
events, etc; and to be welcomed into the
league. Please contact the Ladies’ League
Captain (Pat Taylor) for more information.
Entry Fees
The fee for Tuesday Ladies’ league is $25. This
fee is used towards weekly prizes and awards.
Handicaps and Flights
Eclectic Board
We use the BCGA handicap system in the Ladies’
League and a four flight format. Each Tuesday
following play, enter your name and score in the
correct flight book and deposit your signed and
attested scorecard in the box provided. You must
also enter your score into the BCGA system. For
your convenience, a computer is located in the
pro-shop for members to use.
The Eclectic Board tracks each player’s best
score hole by hole. Players can enter scores
after each Tuesday game to track personal
improvement. Competition runs from April to
September. Please see the bulletin board for
more information.
Prizes and Awards
Each week, the winning players in each flight
receive gift certificates that may be used in the
pro-shop or restaurant. Our emphasis is on fun
with a little competitiveness to keep players
engaged.
At the Ladies’ luncheon events, pins are awarded
to recognize hole-in-ones, eagles and for the first
time breaking 100, 90 or 80 milestones.
Social Events
Several social events are scheduled each year
for our members. The following events
scheduled for 2017:
April 11 - Start of season luncheon
June 20 - Luncheon meeting
July 10 & 11 – Sr. Ladies Championship
(banquet on the 11th)
October 3 - Year End Wind-up luncheon
meeting
December - Ladies’ Christmas Party (date to
be determined)
Deuce Pots and Chip-Ins
Tuesday Ladies’ League Committee
Every Tuesday a Deuce pot and a Chip-in pot are
placed on the counter in the pro-shop along with
a sign-up sheet. Participation is optional and
costs $1 for each pot. Prize money is paid out the
following week.

When you score a deuce or a chip-in, complete a
chit and have it signed by another player and put
the chit in the slot provided in the locker room.
Blank chits are in the locker room by the bulletin
board.

Birdies
When a birdie is scored, write your name, hole #
and date on the “Birdie Tree” located on the
bulletin board in the ladies’ locker room. At the
Year End Wind-up luncheon, players with the
highest number of birdies receive prizes.
