Powered by Onsite S1, S2, S3 + G2 SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR COURSE Course overview Pegasus provides individual and custom training programs to meet your training requirements in a number of competencies from the RII Resources and infrastructure Industry Training Package. The S1,S2,S3 + G2 training program has been developed for participants employed in the mining, construction and civil industries. Anyone who performs the duties of a mine supervisor, or holds the position requirements of a Mine Supervisor or Safety & Health Representative will require these enhanced skills to implement on site Occupational Health and Safety management systems as dictated by legislation. COURSE IN DETAIL Prerequisites Upon completion of the course, participants will gain knowledge and skills to assist them to communicate effectively (both oral and written), conduct health and safety investigations, and review, implement and identify risks within their workplace. RIIRIS301D Apply Risk Management Processes (formerly S1) This unit covers the application of risk management processes in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes: identifying hazards; assessing and identifying unacceptable risk; identifying and recommending treatments; contributing to the implementation of treatments; and reviewing safety system documentation. RIIWHS301D Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (formerly S2) This unit covers conducting safety and health investigations in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes: determining the investigation objectives; gathering information; evaluating information; identifying courses of action; and preparing and presenting investigation reports. RIICOM301D Communicate Information (formerly S3) This unit covers the communication of information in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes: communicating information orally and in writing; achieving meeting outcomes; making presentations, and participating in negotiations. RIIRIS402D Carry Out Risk Management Processes (formerly G2) This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and apply risk management processes within an established system for a mine site/area, including the application of local hazard identification, formal risk assessment and implementation of risk controls. It includes the monitoring of the system, reporting on implementation issues, communication of processes and systems, and the review and auditing of the risk management processes and systems.
