Organ Systems

Organ Systems
By Joseph Brett
The skeletal system
The skeletal system supports the
body’s structure, organs, anchors
muscles and protects organs such as
the lungs, brain and heart! The bones
make up the organs in this system
The Muscle system
The muscle system allows the body to move
through contracting and relaxing muscles. They
are usually controlled by nerves but some
muscles aren’t. all your muscle makes up the
organs in this system.
The Nervous system
The nervous system is a organ system made up of many neurons that
coordinate actions and send signals through the body. The system is
made up of the central and peripheral nervous system. The central
nervous system contains the brain, spine and retina. The peripheral
system is made up of sensory neurons, clusters called ganglia which
are connected by nerves. The nervous system helps us feel pain and
helps us to feel.
The endocrine system
The endocrine system is a system of glands which secretes hormones
into the bloodstream. This system sends signals much like the nervous
system but this system send them very slowly instead of very very
fast. The hormones released help growth etc. the organs in this
system are the kidneys, liver, heart, gonads, sweat glands and salivary
glands.
The circulatory system
The circulatory system passes nutrients, blood cells, hormones and
gases etc, around the body’s cells to fight disease and help keep body
temperature stable. The system is made up of the heart, blood vessels,
blood, veins and arteries.
The lymphatic system
The lymphoid system is part of our immune
system. The system includes the tonsils, spleen,
thymus gland and the bone marrow. It is
responsible for transporting faty acids, fat and
chyle. It transports white blood cells to the bone
marrow.
The respiratory system
The respiratory system includes lungs and
airways. This system carries out respiration
which is the transport of oxygen when we
inhale that goes to tissues, then it transports
carbon dioxide out of our body’s because it is a
harmful gas if we have too much of it.
The urinary system
The urinary system produces, stores and
eliminates urine. The system includes kidneys, 2
ureters, the bladder and the urethra.
The reproductive
system
The two systems in men and women
combined work together to carry out
reproduction. Reproduction is basically
making babies. The male fertilizes the
females egg cell in the woman’s womb with
his sperm from his testicles and penis. The
system is made up of the female genitalia
(vagina) and the male genitalia (penis and
testis).
