Age Well Arrowhead Job Description POSITION TITLE: Volunteer Marketing and Communications Coordinator PURPOSE: To work under the direction and oversight of the Programs Director and collaborates with the Executive Director and key staff members to develop and implement marketing and communication strategies addressing key constituencies (board members, clients, partner agencies, donors, volunteers, potential donors and volunteers, community supporters, funders and potential funders, local governments, regional media and others as appropriate). ABOUT AGE WELL ARROWHEAD: Our mission is to connect older adults and caregivers to services that support healthy aging and independence. We are a nonprofit organization that receives grants from a variety of sources. Our promise to volunteers is to provide fulling and meaningful volunteer opportunities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Executing marketing and communications to promote a positive public image among various audiences and advance development efforts by positioning the organization as the identified expert in providing aging support services in our service area. Team with key staff and appropriate volunteers, to achieve increased brand consistency and recognition, coordination of messages, and a high standard for external communications, all in support of ongoing operations, programs and development, as well as initiatives related to Age Well Arrowhead’s strategic plan and beyond. Coordinating organization-wide design, message and content generation through multiple communication channels. QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS: Marketing • Work with appropriate staff, to develop and implement an annual strategic marketing and communications plan for Age Well to span across all applicable marketing and communication channels (online and offline) in order to reach appropriate target audiences. Formulate and implement a process to evaluate the success of various strategies and provide recommendations and a plan for improvement. • Design and produce materials to create a cohesive image and message for all print and online communication vehicles, including, but not limited to the following: Newsletter; brochures and information kits; annual report; various fundraising and donor and volunteer relations materials; event invitations; press kits; social media; and print and electronic media ads. • Under creative direction execute all branding campaigns, including design and printing. Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to a planned timeline. Volunteer Marketing and Communications Coordinator 7/29/2017 Events and Campaigns • As directed, formulate and execute new events that fit Age Well’s brand in coordination with other staff. • Plan and maintain event timelines and logistics for each event and collaborate on volunteer recruitment efforts with the Volunteer Coordinator. • Develop marketing initiatives for Age Well Arrowhead events. Interactive/Creative Services • Oversee ongoing updating and enhancements to web site • Work closely with Executive Director to design and produce printed and online communication material used in internal and external marketing-communications initiatives. • Develop creative content (includes digital and interactive content). Communications and Public Affairs • Coordinate with appropriate staff and provide oversight on all public relations activities, including press conferences, press kit mailings, press release mailings and all media follow up with story pitches. • Manage media projects, including press releases and announcements, generate story line opportunities utilizing new media and traditional outlets. • Drive brand-specific public relations activity and participate when asked to be spokesperson. • Maintain all online communication vehicles, including but not limited to emails (i.e. Constant Contact) and online social media (Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.) • Monitor and catalog all media coverage of Age Well activities across print, broadcast, and social media outlets. • Coordinate with all staff to ensure consistency in all organizational communications. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field and 1-2 years experience in a marketing position and/or communications position. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted demands. Experience with preparation of press releases, internet, website and social media. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines. Resultsorientated and a passion for creativity. Flexibility to attend occasional evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and proficiency with Adobe CS, a plus or ability to learn on the fly. Excellent verbal and writing skills are required. Position demands the ability to positively interact internally as a team member as well as externally with donors and leadership members. Value the ability to convene small groups of business/community leaders and entertain such groups with the intent of soliciting major donations or referrals to prospective donors.
