Richmond Dales Amateur Swimming Club providing podium potential since 1976 Job Title: Assistant Coach The Club Richmond Dales ASC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated assistant Coach (preferably holding a Level 2 coaching qualification) to work alongside the Head Coach, assisting in the club’s competitive development. We are looking for a coach with the ability to develop and motivate our swimmers whilst paying great attention to detail in relation to skills and technique. Based on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in Richmond, with training split between the pool in Richmond and the leisure facility at Catterick Garrison. We have approximately 135 swimming members across our coaching groups. Our swimmers have had success at County, Regional and National level. In this role you will work collaboratively with the Head Coach and volunteer Board to maintain and help to develop the future success of the club. Hours: This is a part - time coaching position with the expectation that the assistant Coach works 12 hours + per week to cover pool and land training together with the additional time required for administration and attendance at competitions within the swimming season. Qualifications and commitments: Minimum requirement to hold a valid ASA Level 1 Coach Commitment to achieve a Level 2 Coaching qualification Knowledge and commitment to the Long Term Athlete Development program (LTAD) Nationally recognised pool rescue qualification Evidence of personal continuous professional development Full UK driving licence Skills required: Good time management, organisation and administration skills Clear communication Ability to work as part of coaching team and act on own initiative Ability to motivate, encourage and develop swimmers of all ages Main responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in delivery of the programme across age group squads, including cover for other squads as required. Plan and deliver the coaching programme to all relevant squads, under the guidance of the Head Coach. Work in partnership with all other coaches within the club to help the development of all swimmers Plan and deliver a land conditioning programme to compliment pool training, working together with outside agencies as necessary. Take full responsibility for team selection and management of the Junior League Team. Ensure the required level of coaching at all times, and that all sessions are conducted in full accordance with Health and Safety and welfare guidelines. Ensure all members adhere to the Club’s code of conduct and ASA guidelines Liaise with parents/swimmers as necessary to maintain positive relationship.
