WAO2018 Singapore Team Selection Singapore will make submissions to compete in the following events at the World Agility Open Championships in 2018: Pentathlon Championship: 2 rounds of Agility, 2 rounds Jumping, and 1 round Speedstakes Biathlon Championship: 1 round Agility and 1 round Jumping Games Championship: Snooker and Gamblers Team Championship: 2 rounds Agility, 2 rounds Jumping and a Team Relay Three dog-handler teams in each WAO height category will win their way into the Pentathlon, Biathlon and Games events by competing in at least 4 UKI Singapore Trials in 2017 to earn WAO qualification points. Details of the qualification process are outlined below. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TRIP IS SELF FUNDED Pentathlon, Biathlon & Games Selection via UKI Singapore Trials 2017 The three highest placed eligible dogs from each height category will be invited to represent Singapore at the WAO Championships in the Individual Agility Pentathlon Championship, Agility Biathlon and Agility Games Championship. The fourth and fifth placed eligible dogs from each height category shall be reserve teams accordingly. Teams must compete in at least 4 (four) UKI shows held by the Clean Run Agility Club (Singapore) in 2017 to qualify. For teams competing in more than 4 shows, results from their best four shows will be used to calculate their highest score achieved. Only classes under the International Program and Masters Heats Agility and Masters Heats Jumping will be eligible for WAO Qualification Points. No qualification points will be awarded for Speedstakes. Every UKI show in 2017 will offer two classes under the International Program e.g. Agility and Games or Agility and Jumping or Jumping and Games, and may offer Masters Heats For more information, please contact: [email protected] Agility and Masters Heats Jumping. The number of WAO Qualification points awarded in each class will be based on: 1) team placement (i.e. whether a team comes in 1st, 2nd or 3rd); 2) level at which the team is competing (i.e. Beginner, Novice, Senior/Champion or Masters Heats); and 3) whether the team has achieved a clear run. The top three eligible teams (for each WAO Height category) with the highest points accumulated over 4 UKI Singapore shows in 2017 will be offered spots to compete in Pentathlon, Biathlon and Games at WAO2018. The fourth and fifth eligible teams (for each WAO Height category) shall be reserve teams and invited accordingly in the event any of the top three eligible teams of their height category decline their place. In the event of a tie, teams will compete in a run-off over an Agility course at a date to be fixed. For more information, please contact: [email protected] Registration for the UKI Singapore Trials 2017 shows will be through the Clean Run Agility Club website at www.cleanrunagilityclub.com Other Eligibility Criteria for WAO2018 Singapore team Handlers must be Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents of Singapore at the end of 2017. A non-refundable deposit of S$300 must be made to the Singapore team management by 30 November 2017. This money will be used for partial payment of Team Entry Fees, stables, team t-shirts, etc. Team Selection Team Championship spots will be selected from the WAO2018 Singapore team based on the team management's assessment of performance at UKI Singapore Trials 2017 and at team training days. Other Terms & Conditions To reflect WAO’s emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play, all Singapore team members must agree to the following policies: All members will support, encourage & respect fellow team members and management before and during the WAO competition. All team members will put their dog’s needs ahead of their personal desires. All team members will attend at least 2 team training days. In the event that any places on the team are not filled, the country manager reserves the right to fill that spot on the team at his/her own discretion.
