1 Introduction
The templates are intended to harmonize the visual impression of ABB Documentation
throughout the organization, Common Look & Feel. To provide help for editors to adopt
Visual Identity guidelines related to documentation presented to our customers.
1.1 Front Cover
The document number to be in accordance with corporate standard 9ADA11 and local
regulations. Document title to be named according to the product or order the document
is related to. Sub headline to be named as description of the content in the document.
1.2 Content Pages
The predefined styles and formatting provide help to adopt layout of the pages. Further
description, see MS Word template user guide.
1.3 Available formatting
Available styles see ‘Styles and Formatting’ section of the template
Standard Language : US English
Headings -- Four levels. See formatting section.
The <body text> style automatically define the layout on the page

2 User guide
The template contains a macro to help adding document number, title and sub-title into
proper fields in the document.
The macro is visible as a toolbar, named ‘Document Information’.
If this do not works, your macro security settings is too high, the macro security setting
should be set to ‘Medium’. See menu item: ‘tools->Options->Security tab->Macro
Security button’
2.1 Updating table of contents
Point at field and right click. Those ‘Update field’ and select ‘Update entire field’, and the
field will automatically update.
2.2 Pictures
How: Menu bar - ‘Insert – Picture – From File’
Picture will be aligned to the left margin of normal text.

Per default the first row in the table is in grey color.
2.4 Auto numbering of Images and tables
After an image or table is added to the document, right click and select ‘Caption’ in the
menu. Select from the dropdown lists to specify which type of caption you want to use.

2.5 When your start writing
Recommend to rename heading ‘Your first heading’ below to your own text, and add
some text before deleting the Introduction and User guide section. This caused by
keeping the ‘table of contents’ field in place until you do your first update of the TOC.
Ensure Introduction and User Guide section are deleted before publication of your
document.
