Study – College of Teachers
School Verse – the idea of substituting ‘our’ for ‘he’ in the school verse sounds like a
reasonable and perhaps healthy idea – when/how should we bring this small item
to faculty?
Restorative Justice – Should we ask Grades teachers of 4th and up to have a certain
number of restorative justice circles a month or merely leave it to the teachers to
hold circles when they feel it is needed? Also, should there be any follow up
discussion in faculty about this topic? Have the new teachers been oriented to this
process?
Middle School morning – Rachel and I could not address this.
Policy for faculty/staff children – There is a sense that faculty children should be
expected to be integrated fully into the normal expectations/guidelines of the
classroom and school unless very substantial circumstances need to be addressed to
alter these guidelines.
Teacher job description: See below our recommendation – change as desired and
publish as necessary – We got the preamble from our website so we will likely need
to distill that down for publication at WaldorfWorld and Waldorf Today. We
recommend setting up a separate email account with something like
WSRFapplication…… BUT test the email thoroughly before posting so we do not
have the same issue we had last year.
We also recommend creating fliers and sending them to the Waldorf training
centers for posting.
WSRF is located in the Rocky Mountains of
Western Colorado close to Aspen. We are
celebrating our 23rd anniversary this year with a
supportive parent body and a caring faculty. Our
school is set in a beautiful valley where the
community enjoys a multitude of outdoor
recreational opportunities year-round. Our school
has two preschools, two kindergartens and
grades one through eight with approximately 165
(is this number still accurate?) students. Our
campus is all straw bale construction and designed
based on Steiner’s architectural indications,
providing a beautiful space for our faculty and
children to thrive. Our faculty works cooperatively
and collaboratively within a greater community that
is progressive, has a small town feel while
benefiting from the multi-faceted cultural
opportunities of Aspen.
We offer a strong benefits package, competitive
salary, and full tuition remission for full time
teachers and prorated tuition remission for
part time teachers. WSRF is an equal
opportunity employer and does not discriminate
on the basis of gender, race, religious affiliation
or sexual orientation. We look forward to talking
with you!

Lunch question – Kinderhaus fruit issue – Is a teacher okay to make their own
policies for lunches and snacks? Sigrid and Itzel asked their parent to pack no fruit.
Should this be brought to full faculty or can we make a decision in PDC?
We need to invite Michell, Matteo, and Holly to PDC in the very near future. Other
teachers to follow…
Parent Packets – Reviewed…
Should we always have child development as part of the packets? Calendar of year,
class list,
Should we standardize fonts and formatting for block rotation?
Assumption that Heather has reviewed the blocks of newer teachers to be sure all
content/standards of expected year is listed.
Starflower, Sageflower –same as Starflower, Sunflower, Moonflower – all thorough
about the logistics, rhythms, and core Waldorf values included in all. Should we add
media, child development, nature table to all Kinderhaus packets?
First Grade – thorough and complete – no weekly schedule for 1st grade.
Second Grade – seemed thorough – formatting for blocks a bit – no weekly schedule.
Third Grade – thorough but inconsistent formatting and limited information on each
block. No weekly schedule.
Fourth grade – no overview of the year or child development. Brief and concise tone
but all seems to be present.
Fifth grade – mine…
6th –general class information was in an email, no weekly schedule but nice block
detail and overview information.
7th grade – no general class or parent meeting information but exceptional block
detail narrative.
8th grade – no 8th grade overview or general class information but good narrative of
each block. Short and brief but appropriate for 8th grade parents. Should any
information be included about specific 8th grade responsibilities?
Rolled yarn like professionals!!
