Rookie- 7 & 8 year olds 2. Minors- 9 & 10 year olds 3. Majors- 11 & 12 year olds There will be two rounds of competition for each Division. The top three finishers in each Division with the most home runs will proceed to the Final Round. Trophies will be awarded to the top finisher of each Division with the most total home runs in Final Round. o A trophy presentation for the Rookie and Minor players will be conducted before the Majors Division in order to allow younger players to leave earlier. Order: o First Round: The order of play will be pre-set at random. We will post the order prior to the event. All late registrations will be placed at the end of the order per Division. o Final Round: The order of play will be determined by how many home runs were hit in the First Round. The hitter with the most home runs in the First Round will go last and the hitter with the least home runs among the finalists will go first. In the event of a tie among the three finalists, there will be a coin toss to determine batting order. ❖ NOTE: See “tiebreakers” section below for determining a tiebreaker for the top three finishers eligible for the Final Round. All batters must wear a helmet. The on-deck batter may enter the field and take practice swings in the batter’s box. All other participants must stay behind the fence until they are called on-deck. Each participant will hit off of pitching machine. The amount of pitches: o First Round: All players will get a total of 15 pitches. Player may not have any takes in the first round. ❖ Note: Should there be no home runs hit in the Rookie Division, the furthest balls hit by three players will qualify for top finishers. o Final Round: All players will receive 10 outs. Any swing that does not result in a home run qualifies as an out. The batter may elect to not swing at a pitch without penalty, but must not have more than 5 takes. ❖ Note: Should there be no home runs hit in the Rookie Division, the furthest ball hit qualifies for top finisher. Tiebreakers: o First Round: In the event there is a tie for determining the top three finishers, there will be a three pitch “playoff”. Whoever hits the most home runs in this playoff will advance to the final round. The furthest hit ball will determine the tie breaker if an equal amount of home runs is hit. If no home runs are hit, the furthest ball hit will still be the tie breaker. There will not be a playoff to determine batting order of the top three finishers in the event of a tie for home runs hit in the First Round. That will be determined by coin toss. o Final Round: In the event there is a tie for placement, the furthest hit home run will be the tie breaker. Profanity and/or excessive arguing will not be tolerated from any player or parent and is subject to disqualification without reimbursement. This is a fun event and let’s keep it that way!
