Dear Reader
We are happy to inform you that your Practice recently had a
successful CQC visit, with a rating of GOOD.
Walking is deemed to be the best form of exercise and is totally
free. If you do not like to walk alone, look for a local walking
group or join a local Ramblers group.
Alternatively the villages have many activities that go on in village
halls and schools. Find out what happens in your village.
All the villages have limited car parking at the shops and the
health centres. Try when possible, to walk each time just to these
two venues to lessen the burden on parking. Additionally, you will
also be helping reduce air pollution
The lighter nights are now here so no more excuses for getting
started on a new healthier life style 
Holiday time is just around the corner for most of you. May we
remind you to organise your travel vaccinations at least a month
before travel by seeing your practice nurse.
Carer’s Meetings.
Are you aware that our
villages have carers groups?
See our notice boards for
more information.

Information on Non Attendance at Local Hospitals
This practice has worked hard this past year dealing with patients who make an appointment, then fail to arrive at the surgery.
Sending out letters and non- attendance SMS messages, has had good effect with the numbers of patients forgetting to come,
now much reduced, but not eliminated. We need now to tackle the large number of patients who fail to attend hospital and
physio appointments. Please take into consideration that every patient who fails to turn up at hospital isi)
ii)
iii)
Depriving someone else of an appointment.
Wasting NHS resources.
Wasting the time of highly trained clinicians.
If every one of our patients followed through with referrals/appointments to the hospitals, waiting lists could be reduced and
more people would get appropriate treatment more quickly.
Each of our surgeries gets around 15+ letters per week from hospitals and other medical departments letting us know of our
non Attenders. That is 60 such letters a week and 240 per month. Imagine how many in total across the whole country!
Your NHS is precious, must not be taken for granted and its abuse needs to be addressed by us all.
