Gifts in memory or in honor of loved ones are received
at the office daily. They are source of inspiration and
a constant reminder of what this nursing home is all
about. All contributions to Macon Health Care stay
here in this building. These contributions help toward
our goals of meeting the needs of our residents, family
support and education. An acknowledgement is sent
to the family of the loved one if an address is available.
83 Year Old Shirley Houghton of New Cambria
has completed her goal of crocheting 150 stocking caps in various colors for the
patients in the Mexico Veteran’s Home as a suggestion by her daughter, Linda
Maddox, President of the Callao Auxiliary, Unit 360. Shirley started this project
in March, while a patient herself in the Macon Health Care Center. She was instrumental in teaching fellow patients how to crochet the caps so they could have
as much enjoyment as she. Shirley wants to thank Macon Health Care Center
Activity Department, members of her church family and friends in New Cambria
and Callao Auxiliary members for the donation of yarn toward this worthy project. Shirley is shown above with just a few of her 150 finished caps.
