EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM
POSITION: Extended Learning Group Leader

in every Fort Bend ISD elementary school campus and is the before and after school care program for students
in grades K-5. Extended Day provides a supportive climate and safe environment for children to flourish while

QUALIFICATIONS:
 High s chool diploma or GE D re quire d
 P re vious e xpe rie nce working with childre n (preferred)
 Ability to provide pos itive be ha vior ma na ge me nt te chnique a nd de ve lopme nta lly a ppropria te a ctivitie s for
approximately 15 children (required)
JOB GOAL:
Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, the Extended Learning Group Leader supervises students and
engages them in developmentally appropriate enrichment activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide a safe and secure environment for all students in Extended Learning programs.
2. Adhere to all procedures and expectations outlined in district and program handbooks.
3. Lead a group of 15-20 children with diverse needs and abilities.
4. Communicate clearly, effectively, and in a positive manner with children, parents and other district personnel
as prescribed by the program’s expectations.
5. Assist the Site Coordinator in implementation of program designed curriculum.
6. Maintain all required certifications and meet annual training requirements.
7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (i.e., staff development, curriculum development, program
committees).
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY RANGE:
Part-time position – $11.51/hour – Afternoon hours – Averages 18.5 hours/week
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting children or heavy items (up to 50
lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to work safely in an environment
containing biological conditions which may be hazardous (such as bodily fluids and waste, germs, childhood
diseases). Work is also performed outside and on field trips.
