Blackpill traffic lights onto B4436 Mayals Road. Stay
on this road till you come to the junction with
Pennard Road (there is a white painted church in
front of you) The pony club field is on the left

CLASSES
Class 1a&1b RIDE & DRIVE
For horses & ponies any height, open to any vehicle excluding show
wagons.
After completing the ridden section (any rider) competitors will
return to the ring later to
complete the driven section, Whip & rider must
be BDS members.
Class 2
PLEASURE DRIVING
This class is intended for newcomers to the show ring.
Competitors may be asked to perform 3 simple tasks.
Class 3
OPEN EXERCISE Q - m
Open to singles, pairs or tandems horses /ponies any height. Open to
two & four
wheeled pleasure & exercise vehicles with suitable pneumatic (not car wheels) or traditional
wheels, any suitable harness (not patent show harness). Class to judged on suitability of
driver, vehicle, harness & horse.

JUNIOR WHIP/DISABLED WHIP Q - n & o
Juniors (under 18 years old must be accompanied by a competent adult.
Class 5
COLOURED OR TRADITIONAL TYPE HORSE OR PONY
For coloured, spotted, or traditional cob types, any height, singles or
multiples
put to any vehicle with suitable harness. Attention will be on
performance, manners
suitability and turnout.
Class 6
NOVICE HORSE OR PONY.
Any height, singles or multiples, any vehicle excluding trade or show
wagon.
Horses/ponies not to have won more than twice in any show prior to the closing date of the
show.
Class 7
VETERAN
Open to any vehicle, Singles/multiples, horses/ponies any height over 16 years of
age and/or whips over 60 years.
Class 8
CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE
Open to singles/multiples, horses/ponies any height. This class is judged
distance and is based on the overall appearance of the turnout.
Class 9

OPEN PRIVATE DRIVE Q - c, d, f & h
Open to singles/multiples horse/pony any height to a traditional 2 or 4
wheel
vehicle. (excluding coaches, trade or show wagons). Qualifiers
given to the highest
placed in each section.
Class 10
SHOW DRIVE
Open to all competitors
CHAMPIONSHIPS
Grassroots Championship for 1st & 2nd from classes 1 to 7
Show Championship for 1st & 2nd from classes 7 to 9
Osborne qualifiers denoted by Q

Osborne Refrigerators Qualifiers
The classes marked with a "Q" are qualifiers for the 2015 Osborne Refrigerators BDS
National Championships held at Addington on the 26th September 2015. The highest placed
turnouts owned & driven by a member of the BDS are eligible for the following type
sections, disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place (sections o & p down to 10th
place) will qualify for the semi finals.
