Job Title : Football Development Officer - Disability Reports: Manchester County Football Association - Football Development Manager Job Purpose: To strategically lead the development of Disability Football within Manchester County Football Association through the creation of recreational opportunities with clear exit routes into sustainable affiliated structures in partnership with local stakeholders. Jobs Reporting Into The Job Holder: None Key Skills and Experience Required: Essential Graduate / Graduate calibre Experience of Sports / Football Development Experience of working with Disability groups Experience of applying for investment Ability to work strategically with partner organisations to deliver Sports / Football Development objectives Ability to work strategically with partner organisations to deliver programmes and courses Ability to work as part of a team and also to demonstrate the use of individual initiative Goal setting Excellent communication and presentation skills Monitoring and evaluation Demonstration of equality in action Clean Full Drivers Licence Key Skills And Experience Required: Desirable Knowledge of the structure and organisations within football Experience of developing Disability Football Leagues Experience of working with third sector organisation Knowledge of developing recreational participation opportunities in a community environment Experience of working with Disability Clubs Major Objectives: Key Responsibilities: To manage the disability football development fund plan and project Secure investment into developing disability football provision Coordinate and manage the Disability steering group Growth and Retention Be responsible for the growth of Disability Male and Female teams and recreational participation Support Disability Leagues to grow the number of disability teams Develop programmes to sustain and increase participation in 11 v 11, 9 v 9, 7v7, 4v4, 3v3, mini soccer, 5s and Futsal, including players with disabilities and players from minority ethnic communities. Provide a high quality introduction to football within schools, to support coaching both in curriculum and out of school hours, support volunteering and young leadership programmes, and supporting the implementation of the competitions framework and intra-school competition Use data and intelligence to develop insight and shape delivery Map teams and leagues, and develop and invest in gaps Support and build links between schools, colleges and universities to run high quality flexible (intra and inter) competitions and build links with FA Charter Standard Clubs (especially through the club links programme) Support the retention of players above the age of 12 by providing more flexible formats of football (e.g. eight week leagues, mini leagues, summer football, pay and play, Mars Just Play), Offer solutions in developing the transition from youth-adult football Provide a clubs services programme offering a range of training National Game Strategy – support the delivery of the County Plan Whole Sport plan – support the delivery of the 2013 – 2017 plan Disability Football Development Fund – manage the delivery of the plan and support Other Responsibilities Raising Standards and Improving Behaviour Support the FA Charter Standard Programme Support the Charter Standard League Programme Support the FA Respect Programme Better Players Support the talent pathways for disability football within Manchester Workforce: Attend any national Disability training events, on an annual basis, hosted by the FA. Support where appropriate the delivery of a disability coach education programme Support the recruitment, retention and development of volunteers Facilities: Maximise the potential and use of existing facilities (including school sites and support the process to allocate facilities for clubs and leagues.
