Theory of Deviance

Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most notable serial killers in history. He killed
purely for the fun of it and for is own satisfaction. He had no remorse for his
killings and didn’t ever want to stop murdering people. It was hard to come up
with one theory that best describes Dahmer. I think they’re many different
theories that he could be but only one really describes him the best. I chose to
the behavioral theory for Dahmer.

The behavioral theory basically means people aren’t born violent but become
dangerous as a result of their day to day experiences. He grew up with parents
who constantly fought all the time. Their constant arguing eventually led to a
divorce. I think that these experiences played a part in who he became. There
are probably a lot of other factors that molded him into the serial killer that he
grew up to be. Overall, I believe the behavioral theory best describes Jeffrey
Dahmer.
