This landmark hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and offers spectacular views of
the working harbour and Table Mountain. Walk in the utmost
safety to some of the finest retail outlets from designer stores
to restaurants, craft markets, cinemas, boat cruises to Robben
Island and entertainment in the amphitheatre.
Our Mountain Facing Rooms offer inspiring views over the ever
awake Alfred Basin and majestic Table Mountain. We offer a
total of 34 Mountain Facing Rooms. The average room size is
38m² - 44m².
Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse and converted into
a luxury hotel in 1990, the V&A Hotel is named in honour of the
Queen of England and her son who visited the Cape in 1870
when Prince Alfred officially opened the Breakwater Basin –
today’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

spacious creatively-styled well-appointed bedrooms on three

either Mountain or Piazza facing and are priced accordingly
and all have a range of extra features for the business or
leisure traveller.
Loft Rooms
Our sophisticated Loft Rooms are the ideal space for visitors
seeking a cosmopolitan experience within the V&A Waterfront.
Rooms have been designed and appointed with a carefully
thought out range of extra features. Views of Table Mountain
or the Piazza can be seen from the automated windows. We
offer a total of 26 Loft Rooms. The average room size is 36m²
Piazza Facing Rooms
Views of the vivacious Piazza are experienced from our Piazza
Facing Rooms. Enjoy the vibrancy of the waterfront culture with
buskers and dancers who bring indigenous music to life… We
offer a total of 34 Piazza Facing Rooms.
The average room size is 38m² - 44m².
Child Policy
Children of all ages are most welcome at the V&A Hotel. Children
under 2 years sharing with adults are accommodated on a
complimentary basis Children over the age of 2 and under 12
(maximum of 1) per room sharing with adults pay a children
under 12 rate. We recommend that children over the age of 16
be accommodated in a separate room. Inter-leading rooms
are available on request, subject to availability.

Ginja Restaurant at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel incorporates a
blend of artisanal and wholesome all day dining menu options.
This can be enjoyed against the iconic backdrop of Table
Mountain situated on the water’s edge of the V&A Waterfront.
The restaurant also has a unique coffee bar, Native Espresso Bar,
created by a local entrepreneur for coffee connoisseurs looking
for a sensational morning fix and a breakfast or lunch baguette
to-go. The sister hotel, the Queen Victoria Hotel’s restaurant is
one of the top restaurants in Cape Town. For a fine-dining
experience join for dinner at Dash Restaurant & Bar while
listening to live piano as entertainment (Tuesdays to Saturdays).
Guests staying at any of our V&A Waterfront properties can opt
to have breakfast at either of these restaurants at no additional
cost when booked with bed and breakfast. The convenience of
dining at our restaurants is that they can be billed directly to

Drive along the N2 and follow the signs into Cape Town.
When the highway forks, take the right fork which leads onto
the Nelson Mandela Boulevard (previously known as Eastern
Boulevard). When you reach the intersection at the end of
the highway (at the Waterfront), you will see the Cape Town
Convention Centre (CTICC) on your left. Turn Right at the
traffic light into main V&A Waterfront entrance (Coen Steytler
Entrance). Continue along Dock Road and at the traffic circle
take the first exit. At the next traffic circle take the second exit
and continue straight along Dock Road. You will drive past
the Two Oceans Aquarium on your right, the blue shed craft
market and then the V&A Market On The Warf. The Victoria &
Alfred Hotel is situated on your right hand side shortly after the
V&A Market On The Warf.
