A nonpartisan, nonsectarian, and nonpolitical social organization, it is through member as well as local support that it continues to make a positive impact in the Erie community. Formed on December 9, 1897, the Club has been recognized over the years for beginning what is now the Visiting Nurses Association, founding the Erie Unit of the American Cancer Society in 1945 and for its philanthropic activities for over 100 years. The Club is committed to the historic preservation of the former Davenport and Winifred Galbraith mansion, which is available for rental of meetings, business functions, celebrations, and/or gatherings. Many social activities and fundraisers are sponsored at the club house or in the community, which are open to the public like this event on the links, as well as bus trips through the year.
