Legal Considerations for promotional events
Inviting people to a promotional event means that you are responsible for their safety
and wellbeing. All aspects of the event need to be thought through from wheelchair
access to lighting and fire exits.

Activity 1a
Devise a feedback sheet to evaluate the success of the
Pamper day that will held at Penclawdd Community centre
on the 7th December. This feedback sheet should ask for
information on not only the range of treatments given but
also the promotional material and the location of the event,
along with the price of the pamper day. (You must keep
copies of all your feedback sheets in order to produce an
evaluation report in workbook 4)

“The Therapist”
Rules:
 Check that you clearly understand what you have to achieve
together as a team.
 Identify what needs to be done and the individual
responsibilities within the team.
 Explore each member’s strengths and weaknesses, to establish
all the roles that need to be fulfilled and the best person for
each role.
Therapist tasks
During the week of our annual Top to Toe event on the week of the 12th
,13th and 14th December, each team will be required to Promote, market
and sell beauty products to members of the public during this period of
time.
 Each team will be given £30 to buy, package and present
their wares with the focus being on Christmas stocking fillers.
 The position of your stall must comply with Health and Safety
legislation and the safe storage of products must comply with
COSHH regulations. Permission to trade in certain areas
must also be evident.
 The team who has the greater profit margin will gain extra
points with the judging panel.

 The decision making along with allocated roles must be
evident throughout this activity.
You must keep a reflective journal of how you came to each decision,
with regular video diary recordings
Each team must present their: Promotion and marketing strategic plan.
 Audit of accounts
 Profit Margin [A chart, graph or diagram must also be
in place to show this]
The “Therapist “Pitch to the Judging Panel will take
Place on:Monday 19th December at 1pm
All members of the team must be able to show their individual
role/s and all must take part in the PowerPoint presentation to the
Judges. If you are not present on this day then in order to provide
evidence for this unit you will have to undertake the presentation
on your own at a later date!
