necessitated a restructure of the Saturday afternoon
clinics.

Nudgee Futures Junior Golf
Program
The Magpie - Beginner (3-4pm) and the Kookaburra Emerging (2-3pm) clinics will continue at the same time
Saturday afternoons.
In addition, a Junior Development Squad is being
established. This will comprise a Juniors Advanced
Squad (Nudgee Golf Club Junior Members with GA
handicaps) and a Juniors Intermediate Squad
(advanced Kookaburras as selected by Nudgee Golf
Club’s Head Teaching Professional). The Development
Squad clinics will be between 4-5pm Saturdays.
Juniors eligible to participate in the Junior Development
Squad will receive an invitation from the club in the
coming weeks.
Please find attached the Term 2, 2016 Clinic Program
below.
Getting on Course
During Term 2 the Magpies can start to show their
developing skills on course and on the putting green. A
putting and chipping competition will be held for the
Magpies on May 7th and a 3 Hole Challenge on the 11th
and 18th June.
Kookaburras and the Junior Development Squad have
the opportunity to play in the Schweppes competition
each month until September. From Term 2,
Kookaburras and the Intermediate Squad are also able
to play a practice 9 Hole round on Sundays (Tee off
between 2-2.30pm). It is essential that this is booked
with the office by the prior Saturday. A parent must be
with each group.

Junior Girls Pennants
The Girls Junior Pennant season was held over 5
weeks from 7 February to 6 March. This year Nudgee
had Kat M and Georgie M playing in a combined
Virginia/Nudgee team.
Coming into the last round the team was running
second and played the leaders (Wynnum) at Virginia
needing a clean sweep to take the Pennant flag.
Unfortunately, they were only able to manage a tie and
ended the season in 2nd place - a commendable effort.
Next year we hope to nominate a Nudgee team.
Junior Golf Queensland Tournaments
Over the last month, Kat M has performed well in the
Ocean Shores Junior Open with a Nett 74 to place 2nd
in the Nett. Kat followed that up with Division 2 Gross
Runner-Up with a 90-90 in the 2 Day Pelican Waters
Junior Classic. Well done, Kat.
Brisbane Interclub Challenge
The Nudgee Futures have been invited to participate in
the Brisbane Mixed Interclub Junior Challenge. The
challenge is an 18-hole Stableford competition for
handicapped juniors. Nudgee will be in Pool 2, playing
against Pacific at Pacific on July 10 and against
Brookwater at Nudgee on August 14.
Play with the Board
Members of the Nudgee Golf Club Board have invited
our Boy Junior Members to play with their group on
Saturday mornings. If you are interested, please
