NONRESIDENT Montana Big Game Hunting License
Information
A Montana NONRESIDENT Big Game Hunting License is required.
A combination license entitles you to take upland birds and fish in addition to the big game
license.
A Big Game Combination license entitles you to take one elk (bull only in our hunting district)
plus one buck deer (either mule deer or whitetail deer).
The Combination Elk ONLY entitles you to take only an elk and not a deer.
A Combination Deer Only license entitles you to take only a buck deer (either mule or
whitetail).
All licenses issued since 2011 are a random draw. There has been a 100% draw rate 20112015. In 2016 we anticipate the drawing odds for the elk/deer combination license will
again be 100%.
The deadline for submitting an application for the draw is March 15th.
The anticipated costs of these licenses for 2016 are (license costs will be finalized in
February):
Combination [Elk, Deer]
$1001
Elk Only
$851
Deer Only
$597
