JOB TITLE: Kids Adventure Time Team Leader
DEPARTMENT: Kinship Family and Youth
PRIMARY WORKSITE: 211 Main Street, Penn Yan, NY
Job Dates: June 26, 2017
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for the daily implementation of programming for
Kids Adventure Time in Yates County for at-risk youth. This is a seasonal part-time
position in Yates County, New York working with children ages 5 through 11. The
program runs five weeks in the summer beginning in July. Dedicated training is provided
the week prior to program opening.
HOURS: 24 hours/week. This is a part-time, temporary position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Mandated trainings geared toward children’s behaviors and agency policies
 Activity Implementation: There are pre-scheduled activities in which youth are
involved. It is the Team Leader’s role to ensure that youth arrive at those
activities as scheduled.
 Activity Planning: There will be days where a scheduled activity falls through or
a group of children need a diversion. It is the role of the Team Leader to have
an activity in mind to address this need as it happens; butting down on
confusion or interruption in routine.
 Lead the Team: The Team Leader oversees youth and other workers through
the course of the day. They give the directives and adhere to the schedule as
well as keeping the other workers involved with their assigned group on task.
 Report Safety Concern: If there is an environmental concern, it is the Team
Leader’s responsibility to address it immediately and report it to the Program
Coordinator or Site Supervisor
 Other duties as outlined in Job Description.
EDUCATION: Must be a high school graduate, some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Working with at-risk youth, either through employment or volunteer
experience.
