What 2016 Holds for the Square 9 Community

What 2016 Holds for the Square 9 Community
After the finish of another great year at Square 9, we now turn our attention to the promise of what 2016 will bring.
The attendees of Encompass 2015, back in October, already received a peek behind the curtain of our many
planned objectives in store for this year. But for those who weren’t in attendance (or took a beach break), we
wanted to offer this 2016 preview with some of what to expect this year from Square 9.
At Square 9 we have always believed that creating a great user experience isn’t just about developing great
products - but it certainly starts there. With that said we are confident that 2016 will not disappoint. One of the most
exciting initiatives we are preparing to release is our new GlobalCapture product, which will be launched late Spring.
With this release, our community of Resellers and end users will have an exciting new option for further automating
their capture and information extraction processes.
As a highly scalable solution for both departmental and centralized capture applications, GlobalCapture has always
featured the ability to handle the capture and high volume data extraction of document information. These
documents can come from inbound email, production scanners, multifunctional printers and watched directories.
With new tools being introduced in the Spring 2016 release, we will add unstructured data extraction, automated
forms learning and contextual classification to this platform.
As such, GlobalCapture will provide an exciting alternative to competitive solutions that lack its scalability or direct
MFP touch panel integration. GlobalCapture will also be offered as a completely standalone product that will not
only deliver processed images to Square 9’s on premise or cloud hosted ECM backend; it can also be used as a
capture front end for SharePoint, Google Drive, and even competitive ECM solution offerings.
While GlobalCapture is the focus of our Spring release, you’ll also see additional new tools coming in 2016 including
Office 365 integration, an updated Image XChange for image enabling third party applications from GlobalSearch,
and a new mobile friendly UI update that will optimize GlobalSearch for both tablet and phone users. These are just a
few new features you’ll see in 2016, so expect an exciting year in feature development.
In addition to our product development initiatives, there are also several new support tools being developed for the
Square 9 user community. Most notably is a new Support and Developers forum which will present users with the
ability to see their case history along with any open cases currently being worked. Coupled with a new
knowledgebase, making it much easier to search for relevant information, and an improved overall navigation
experience, the new forum will more than address the requests of the 2015 Community Survey.
Another key initiative here at Square 9 is the continuous enhancement of our Education experience. We are strong
believers in the value product education affords our Reseller community and for those who have invested in our
products. Not only are we adding new classes for workflow design and capture, we are also going to be moving our
Reseller Sales training into an eLearning environment by the end of Q1 with a Product Education primer for both end
users and Resellers to follow later in the year. Stay tuned for more information on eLearning in the coming months.
These are just a few of the highlights for 2016 but I’m happy to say that every department within Square 9 is actively
working to enhance the experience of our user community through a series of planned initiatives. We will be posting
new information on these programs in the coming months through our newsletter and blog but we also strongly
encourage our entire community to join us for Encompass 2016 in October for complimentary training on new
features and products along with insight into what 2017 will bring.
In closing I would just like to thank everyone once again for another record breaking year in 2015 and wish you all
continued success in the coming year. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this great community and are
committed daily to rewarding the trust you place in us.
Best regards,
