Structure and Activities of the New Israeli Football Players Organization (IFPO) 1 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization IFPO - the NEW Israeli Football Players Organization. December 2013 -the new organization is established. January 2015- FIFPro recognizes IFPO. March 31, 2015 IFPO is launched in Jerusalem, with representatives of FIFPro: Mr. Jonas Hoffman, Mr. Spyros Neophytides from Cyprus, and Mr. Nikolai Grammatikov from Russia. 2 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization 3 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization 4 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization 5 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization 6 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization IFPO is a “Non-Profit Public Benefit Organization” under strict state control The organization shares are allocated only to active professional players –one non-transferable share per player. The General Assembly elects the Organization’s board of directors. The General Assembly consists of male and female football players. 7 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization IFPO now has 880 members in professional leagues out of 1,100 active players – Men’s 1st and 2nd league, – Women’s 1st league, (slide). Founded in 1920, the Histadrut is the largest labor organization in Israel. It represents over 1 million employees in various sectors and in various sports. In Israeli law only representative organizations can declare a strike and sign collective agreements. • 10 IFPO- New Israel Football Players Organization IFPO main goal is to benefit the Israeli men and women footballers in a number of areas: 1. Establishing a uniform disciplinary code by involving players’ representatives in the various disciplinary committees. 6. Involving the players in choosing arbitrators in dispute proceedings. 7.
