No after-hours drop offs.
Each of our ReStores is a non-profit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used building
supplies, furniture, home accessories, appliances and more to the general public at significantly reduced prices.
Proceeds support local projects and programs in Williamson County. Revenue from our Williamson County ReStores
offer continued support for mission and programs. Your donations impact families in need of decent, affordable housing.
All donations made to the ReStore are tax deductible as allowed by law. Please consult your tax accountant.
EXAMPLES OF ACCEPTED ITEMS
APPLIANCES
 Must be in working and saleable condition
 Less than 12 yrs old
LUMBER AND BUILDING MATERIALS
 Six (6) feet or longer
 Must not have nails, screws, or staples
 Cannot be rotted, twisted, or molded
LIGHT FIXTURES AND CEILING FANS
 Item in working condition
 All parts must be present
 Light bulbs removed
FLOORING
 Must not have been previously installed
TOILETS
 Complete and clean
 Manufactured after 1995
 Be marked 1.6 gpf or less
WINDOWS
 Frame must be complete and in good condition
 Previously installed windows may not have lead paint
on the frame
 Mounting area may not have extreme damage or been
removed
MASONRY
 Must be clean and usable
 Must not be cracked or crumbling
DOORS
 Clean and free of rot or decay
 Able to be rehung if donated without frame
 No excessive paint or holes
FURNITURE
 Clean and free of stain or excessive odor
 Cushions and fabric must not be ripped or frayed
BLINDS
 Must be in usable condition and contain mounting
hardware
 Must not be tangled or missing controls
TOOLS
 Usable condition
 Complete
CABINETS
 Cannot be water damaged or molded
 Must be complete with doors mounted
ANTIQUES
 May contain some wear and damage due to age
 Must be in usable condition or repairable
OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT
 Must not be heavily rusted
 Resalable condition

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS
AS OF JANUARY 4, 2014: faucets, dishwashers, water heaters/softeners,
or any plumbing items that carry drinking water and are not properly labeled in accordance with the
SWDA (per an EPA directive)















Lumber – < 4’ long, twisted, rotted or excessively nailed
Clothing, toys, cribs, strollers, car seats, tapes, records, CDs, books, mattresses & box springs
Unframed mirrors
Previously installed tile or laminate flooring
Aluminum, Cloth or vertical blinds
Automotive parts -- tires, batteries, parts, oils & fluids
Office cubicles
Mercury switches or bulbs.
PCB ballasts
Computers, monitors, TVs, VCR's, fax machines, printers, scanners & fluorescent tubes
Paint & chemicals except those donated by vendors or distributors
No asbestos shingles
Used shower doors
Used bathroom vanity tops without lower cabinet
Anything broken, damaged, excessively mildewed, soiled or smelly items
OTHER DONATION CRITERIA:




HFHWC does not have a repair facility and cannot repair any items.
Please DO NOT donate appliances that have been recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Please visit http://www.cpsc.gov for a list of recalled items.
HFHWC must pay to have items hauled away – please do not use the HFHWC dumpster to discard items
HFHWC cannot accept as donation
Non-working appliances may still be accepted for recycling.
We will pick-up in specific areas of Williamson County for specific items.
