An entirely renewed show schedule at Italy's top country fair
A combination of environmentally friendly sports, experience and culture in a
continuous cycle of competitions, shows, demonstrations and interactivity.
Grosseto, May 16th 2017 - Game Fair, Italy's largest country fair, will take place on June 2nd-4th,
immersed in the natural Tuscan landscapes of Maremma, with a total exhibition area of 30
hectares in the Grossetofiere area. The event offers a modern re-interpretation of traditions,
styles and habits of rural English gentlemen, which have fascinated Europe since Victorian times.
Outdoor life and country style enthusiasts will have the chance to get closer to the world of sports
and shooting weapons, hunting and outdoors, actively participating in practical trials and
competitions, or attending a non-stop cycle of shows and exhibitions and visiting the show area.

The name Game Fair comes from an event which originally took place in England in 1950 upon the
initiative of the "Country Landowners Association", a gentleman's countryside club which aimed to
promote rural culture through periodic meetings for hunting, dog, equestrian, fishing and country
life enthusiasts. It is organised in England, France, Spain, United States, and in Italy since 1991, a
celebration of the distinctive aspects of traditions linked to rural life while embracing its original
spirit.
The 2017 edition has been organised by Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A., in collaboration with
Grossetofiere S.p.A. and in partnership with C.N.C.N. (National Committee for Hunting and
Nature), an organisation which aims to promote sustainable hunting in line with international
parameters.
Tuscany is the perfect venue for the Game Fair. This region, rich in cultural, historical, naturalistic
and culinary treasures attracts large numbers of enthusiasts. The event is strategically located in
Grosseto, at the heart of a 180 km area home to major cities of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, with
countless mini break opportunities for Game Fair visitors.
This multi-regional area boasts the highest density of outdoor sports and hunting enthusiasts. This
territoriality has been further promoted, with Game Fair receiving support from the Municipality
of Grosseto, Trade Associations (Craftsmanship and Trade), the Department of Public Education
and Natural History Museum of Grosseto and Parco della Maremma.
The 2017 edition of Game Fair will feature a brand new show programme based on four key
criteria:




More interactive parts: Visitors become protagonists
Addition of competitions: The event has now embraced professional circuits, a venue for trials
and championship finals, for novices and professionals
Introduction of new disciplines: This edition will see the début of off-road, bike, no fire sports
(knife throwing and sling shot ranges, with particular focus on soft air)
Updated shows: In addition to sports and skills trials, there will be an array of equestrian elegance,
style and acrobatics contests.
In addition, for the first time ever, prestigious sector Institutes will take part in Game Fair: the
Reggimento Savoia Cavalleria will be present and visitors will have the chance to visit its vehicles;
the military veterinary centre, with farrier and a dog service performing searches for explosives;
the provincial Carabinieri station will also participate, with ‘molecular research’ trials and
horseback patrols.
