GRAND THEFT
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has arrested Maria Elizabeth Chrysson
and charged her with Grand Theft over $300.00 and Criminal Use of Personal
Identification.
On July 23, 2010, Chrysson entered Shino Bay Cosmetic, Dermatology, & Laser
Institute for the purpose of obtaining a facial cosmetic procedure. Chrysson
produced a State of Florida identification card that belonged to “Laura Owens
Cugno” and represented herself as this person to the Shino Bay staff. Chrysson
then received cosmetic procedures that totaled $3,292.20 and was presented a
bill for services that were rendered. Chrysson left the business and stated that
she had to go to the bank ATM to retrieve money. Chrysson never returned.
Detectives were able to develop information on the true identity of Chrysson. On
July 30, 2010, various photographic line-ups were presented to the staff of Shino
Bay. As a result of these line-ups, Chrysson was positively identified. On
August 5, 2010, Lauren Cugno, provided Fort Lauderdale Detectives with a
sworn statement that her identification card was used without her knowledge or
consent.
